A على على مدى أكثر من خمسة عقودٍ، لم تكن عائلة آل نهيان مجرّد شاهد على تحوّلات دولة الإمارات، بل كانت قطبًا أساســــــيًا في صياغتها. فمن لحظة التأسيس الأولى، وصولا إلى تشــــــكيل ملامح الدولة الحديثة، تعاقبت أجيال من القيادة على رســــــم مســــــارها السياسي، والاقتصادي، والدبلوماسي، واضعة أسس الحوكمة، ومرسّخة حضور الدولة في محيطها الإقليمي والدولي، ودافعة بمشاريع التنويع الاقتصادي والتخطيط الاستراتيجي نحو آفاق أبعد. وفي إطار نهجها الرامي إلى ترســــــيخ روح المجتمع، أعلنت دولة الإمارات العربية “عام الأســــــرة”، وهي مبادرة وطنية تســــــلط الضوء على أهمية 2026 المتحدة عام التماسك الأسري، والمسؤولية المشتركة، واستمرارية الروابط بين الأجيال داخل الدولة. وتأتي هذه المبادرة في إطار الأجندة التنموية طويلة الأمد للدولة، داعية المؤسســــــات الاتحادية والمحلية إلى تعزيز اســــــتقرار الأســــــرة وجودة حياتها عبر السياســــــات، والبرامج المجتمعية، والمبادرات العامة. وتعكس المبادرة رؤية ترى في الأسرة أكثر من مجرد إطار اجتماعي خاصٍّ، بل ركيزة أساسية للهوية الوطنية، وأحد المقومات الجوهرية لرفاه المجتمع. وفي دولة الإمارات، يتجاوز مفهوم الأســــــرة حدود روابط النسب، ليشمل مختلف فئات المجتمع التي تعيش وتعمل على أرضها، في نســــــيج اجتماعي أوسع، قوامه الانتماء، والإسهام في مسيرة الوطن، وتراكم التجارب المشتركة. وقد أرسى المغفور له الشيخ زايد بن سلطان آل نهيان دعائم الاتحاد، ووضع الأسس السياســــــية والاجتماعية التي قامت عليها الدولة، مســــــتندًا إلى مبادئ الاستقرار، والتعاون، والرؤية بعيدة المدى. ثم واصلت الأجيال اللاحقة البناء على هذا الإرث، عبر تطوير مؤسسات الاستثمار السيادي، وتوسيع الشراكات الدبلوماسية، وتعزيز السياسات الدفاعية، ودفع مسيرة التحول الاقتصادي على نطاق واسع. واليوم، يتولى أفراد أســــــرة آل نهيان مناصب قيادية في مختلف مفاصل الدولة، تشــــــمل رئاسة الدولة، والحكومة الاتحادية، والشؤون الخارجية، والأمن الوطني، وقطاعَي الطاقة والاســــــتثمار. وتمتد مســــــؤولياتهم لتشمل إدارة الشأن التنفيذي، والعمل الدبلوماسي، والمبادرات الإنسانية، والإدارة المحلية للإمارة. وتعكس هذه الأدوار، مجتمعةً، مسيرة تطور دولة الإمارات منذ قيام الاتحاد، إلى دولــــــة ذات حضور عالميٍّ، ترتكز أولوياتها على الاســــــتقرار، والمرونة الاقتصادية، Across more than half a century, the Al Nahyan family has played a central role in shaping the political, economic and diplomat- ic trajectory of the United Arab Emirates. From the federation’s founding to the development of contemporary state institutions, successive generations have guided national policy across gov- ernance, international relations, economic diversification and strategic planning. In 2026, the United Arab Emirates has designated the Year of Family , a national initiative that highlights the importance of cohesion, shared responsibility and intergenerational continuity within society. Positioned within the country’s long-term development agenda, the programme calls on federal and local institutions to strengthen family life through policy, community engagement and public initiatives. It reflects an understanding that family is not only a private structure, but a foundational element of nation- al identity and collective wellbeing. Within the UAE, this idea extends beyond lineage. The concept of family encompasses the diverse population that lives and works across the country, forming a broader social fabric grounded in belonging, contribution and shared experience. The leadership of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan established the political and social foundations of the union, defining prin- ciples of stability, cooperation and long-term development. Lat- er generations expanded this framework through the growth of sovereign investment institutions, diplomatic partnerships, de- fence policy and large-scale economic transformation. Today, members of the Al Nahyan family occupy key positions across federal government, the presidency, foreign affairs, na- tional security, energy and investment.
