والتعــــــاون الدولــــــي، والتخطيط بعيد المدى. وفي وقت يشــــــهد فيه العالم تصاعدًا في حدّة النزاعات، وحالة من عدم اليقين، يأتي “عام الأســــــرة” ليؤكد أحد المبادئ الراســــــخة التي تقوم عليها دولة الإمارات: أن قوة الأوطان تنبع من متانة الروابط التي تجمع أبناءها، ومن الالتزام المشترك تجاه الوطن الذي يحتضنهم. المغفور له الشيخ زايد بن سلطان آل نهيان الرئيس المؤسس لدولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة قلّما حظي قائد في ذاكرة الإمارات بمحبّة صادقة كتلك التي حظي بها والد الأمّة، الشــــــيخ زايد بن ســــــلطان آل نهيان، حتى بات يُعرف بين الناس بلقب “بابا زايد”. 1971 ، ثم قيادته للدولة منذ قيام الاتحاد عام 1966 فمنذ تولّيه حكم أبوظبي عام ، قاد الشــــــيخ زايد مســــــيرة توحيد الإمارات، وأرسى دعائم دولة 2004 وحتى عام تقوم على التشاور، والتكامل، والتنمية المشتركة. وكان في جوهر رؤيته إيمان واضح بأن قيمة الوطن تُقاس برفاه أبنائه. فتم توجيه عائدات النفط نحو بناء المدارس، والمستشــــــفيات، والمســــــاكن، والبنية التحتية، لتتشكل دولة حديثة تتسع فيها فرص التعليم، والرعاية الصحية، والحياة الكريمة،
Together, these roles reflect the evolution of the UAE from a newly formed federation into a globally connected state whose priori- ties include stability, economic resilience, international cooper- ation and long-term planning. At a time when many parts of the world are experiencing conflict and uncertainty, the Year of Family also underscores a defining principle of the Emirates: that the strength of a nation rests in the bonds that connect its people and the shared commitment to the place they call home. As Ruler of Abu Dhabi from 1966 and the founding President of the UAE from 1971 until 2004, he led the formation of the federation and guided the transformation of a group of emirates into a unified country built on cooperation, consultation and shared development.
