“A child born in Abu Dhabi today will inherit seas that are alive, deserts that are thriving, air that is clean, and skies still carrying the species we set out to protect thirty years ago.” A LIVING LEGACY: SHAPING THE NEXT THIRTY YEARS Our Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed, taught us that this land is a trust passed between generations. Every ecosystem re- stored, every policy enacted and every community empowered over the past thirty years has been guided by this principle. An inheritance of this kind is not given. It is built, decision by decision, across generations. It is what gives our work its urgency, and its meaning. The Abu Dhabi our children inherit will reflect the choices we are willing to make today. Thirty years ago, a small team of scientists crouched in the de- sert near Sweihan with little more than data, determination and a belief in what was possible. What they began, we continue. What we build now, together, guided by science and strength- ened through partnership, will shape the next thirty years. The first three decades built the foundation. The next will define the legacy. .

tal intelligence informs every public decision, where de- graded ecosystems are restored at scale, and where natural capital is treated with the same rigour as financial capital. The shift it asks of us is not incremental. It is generational. The strategy represents a shift from monitoring environ- mental change to anticipating it. Through artificial intel- ligence, digital twin technology and autonomous moni- toring systems, we are building capabilities that will al- low us to predict challenges before they emerge and re- spond with greater precision. By 2030, EAD aims to be- come the first environmental authority in the world to achieve full AI integration across its core operations. That ambition deserves prominence: it signals that EAD is not only protecting the environment but redefining how en- vironmental authorities operate globally. The marine environment remains a particular focus. Through initiatives such as Hamdan bin Zayed: The World’s Richest Seas, the Coral Rehabilitation Project and the Abu Dhabi Mangrove Initiative, we are working to strengthen marine ecosystems and restore habitats at an unprecedented scale. Along our coastline, mangrove forests continue to expand. Beneath the water’s surface, coral colonies are being restored, and fish populations are recovering. Together, these efforts are helping to secure the long-term health and productivity of Abu Dhabi’s marine environment and demonstrating how restora- tion can become a source of resilience, biodiversity and long-term prosperity. On land, we continue to advance climate action, strength- en resource management and support the transition to- wards a more sustainable economy. From reducing green- house gas emissions and protecting groundwater resourc- es to developing ecotourism opportunities and unlock- ing blue economy potential, our goal is clear: to ensure environmental sustainability remains a driver of long- term prosperity.

مـــــا يمنح عملنـــــا معناه الحقيقـــــي وقيمته المســـــتدامة، فأبوظبي التي سيرثها أبناؤنا غدًا تشـــــكلها الخيـــــارات والقـــــرارات التي نتخذها اليوم. قبـــــل ثلاثين عامًـــــا، انطلق فريق صغير من العلمـــــاء في صحراء ســـــويحان، متســـــلحًا بالبيانـــــات، والإصـــــرار، والإيمـــــان المطلق بمـــــا يمكـــــن تحقيقـــــه، واليـــــوم نواصل ما بـــــدأه أولئك الـــــرواد. وما نبنيـــــه الآن، معًا، مسترشـــــدين بالعلم، ومســـــتندين إلى قوة الشـــــراكة، هو ما سيشـــــكل ملامـــــح العقود الثلاثـــــة المقبلة. فـــــإذا كانت العقود الثلاثة الأولـــــى قد أرســـــت الأســـــاس المتين، فإن العقود الثلاثة المقبلة ستشهد ترسيخ هذا . الإرث، وضمان استدامته.
وهـــــواء نقيًا، وســـــماء لا تـــــزال تحلّق فيها الأنـــــواع التي بدأنا العمـــــــــــــل على حمايتها قبل ثلاثين عامًا.” إرث حيّ... يصوغ العقود الثلاثة المقبلة علّمنا الوالد المؤســـــس، المغفور له الشـــــيخ زايد بن سلطــــــــان آل نهيان، طيب اللـه ثراه، أن هـــــذه الأرض أمانـــــة تتوارثهـــــا الأجيال، وهو المبــــــــدأ الحي الذي استرشدنا به في كل نظام بيئي أعدنا تأهيله، وكل سياســـــة وضعناهـــــا قيد التنفيــــــــــذ، وكل مجتــــمــــــــع عملنـــــا علـــــى تمكينـــــه علـــــى مـــــدار العقود الثلاثـــــــــة الماضيـــــــــة. فمثل هذا الإرث العظيم لا يُمنح، بل يُبنى، قـــــرارًا تلـــــو قـــــرار، وجيلا بعد جيـــــل. وهو
