A GREAT NEW APP For Your Smartphone

Information can be an incredibly valuable tool. We recently launched a new smartphone app called the VanMeveren Law Group Accident Assist. This app provides several resources and tools at the push of a button. We worked with a company called Accident Assist to tailor the app to our clients and their needs. It’s a resource you can use on the road or at any time. One of the biggest benefits of the app is that it keeps all of your “driver” information in one place by storing a copy of your driver’s license, auto insurance information, auto registration, and any roadside assistance you may have, such as AAA. On top of this, the app has several other resources that can help in the event of a car accident. The “What to do?” tool provides step-by-step guidance for drivers and others following an accident, which can be a confusing time. Having a resource like that can help keep you focused. The app also helps connect you with emergency personnel and your designated emergency contacts. It helps minimize the amount of searching you have to do to find what you need in order to contact the right people. And then, when emergency personnel arrive on the scene, or you arrive at a medical facility, the app has any medical information you may need to share, such as any conditions you may have that can impact the type of care or medication you receive. And another thing — it even stores your health insurance information. While you’re at the scene of the accident, you can use the app to map where and when the accident took place. You can add photos and videos, along with any notes you may have about the accident, the other party, or witnesses. This app isn’t just ideal for motorists. It’s great for everyone, especially if you find yourself on the road at any given time as a passenger, a cyclist, or a pedestrian. And speaking of cyclists, there are many here in Fort Collins who commute to work by bike and enjoy their days off in and around town on their bike. They ride on our roads and trails and in the backcountry, and they almost never have all the above health and insurance information with them. Having all this in one place on our app ensures you never leave home without said information. You never know what might happen and the app keeps you prepared. Following an accident, you can use several tools on the app to help you keep track of different aspects of your care, including managing and scheduling accident-related appointments and treatments and other reminders.

The app can also log and help you track any symptoms you experience as a result of your accident. In pain or don’t feel well? Log it and include details of that instance of pain. These can then be shared with your designated health care provider or attorney if you choose. And speaking of your attorney, the app can put you in direct contact with your attorney. Following an accident — or during the claims process — you may need to be in touch. Now your attorney is just one click away. We can’t say enough about this app. It’s a great tool for our clients and it’s a great tool for us. When you log information in the app, it is shared with us and we can use that information to benefit your case. We invite you to try out the app! You can find more information on our Facebook page (Facebook.com/vanmeverenlawgroup) or you can download the app directly to your phone or tablet at OneLink.to/vanmeveren or by searching “VanMeveren Law Group” in the App Store or Google Play store. If you have any questions about the app, including how to download and set it up on your phone, then just give us a call and we’ll gladly help. We hope you find it helpful!

Our Clients Say It Best

" I worked with Karl Hager at VanMeveren Law Group. The months following my collision was a painful, stressful time. Karl handled everything in a kind, caring, and supportive manner. His weekly check-ins and updates made me feel like I was always in the loop and had control over my decisions and course of action. I wasn’t just a client – I was someone who mattered. It was because of Karl’s professionalism and determination in a difficult situation that this settlement came to a close." –Pennie Hunt

Make Your Game Nights Extra Special With a Family Entertainment Room Families around the world are finding new ways to spend time with each other, and their homes are changing accordingly. Whether your family members are video gamers, movie enthusiasts, or board game fans, everyone can benefit from having a dedicated entertainment room. Here are some tips for putting one together. Use your space wisely. Consider the advantages and challenges of your available space. You don’t want small spaces to feel cramped, and you don’t want large spaces to feel empty. If your room is small, then design the space to serve multiple purposes, like installing a bar with a TV on the opposite wall. If your room is large, then why not have two or more TVs to let visitors play multiple games or watch different shows? A projector can also be used to maximize a room’s space. It allows you and your guests to utilize an entire wall without requiring much physical space. Set up surround sound. Whether you’re using your entertainment room for movies, music, video games, or all of the above, investing in high-quality speakers will pay off instantly. You can set them up around the room for clearer, more immersive sound for movies and games, and by spacing out each speaker, you can eliminate cord clutter and tangle. Soundproof your space. Trying to impress your guests with great sound doesn’t mean that your entire neighborhood has to hear what you’re watching! Soundproofing not only helps shield your neighbors from action game explosions and booming movie scores, but it also improves the sound quality in the room. Thick curtains and carpets, wall-mounted foam panels, or freestanding acoustic panels work for basic soundproofing, but if you plan to utilize your space every day and night, then consider hiring a contractor to help estimate materials and cost for a more sophisticated soundproof space. Have great lighting. There’s nothing more inviting than a well-lit space, and this also applies to your entertainment room. Whether you’re playing a board game or putting together puzzles with the whole family, mood lighting can make the experience feel even more cozy and special. Try experimenting with different, stylish lamps or overhead fixtures to light up your space.

From the Animal Friends Alliance Meet Pingo, a Cat Who Loves to Be Petted!

This month we bring you another profile of a great animal from the Animal Friends Alliance. Meet Pingo, a female, domestic shorthair cat who is 3 years and 3 months old!

Here's Pingo's blurb from the website:

“Hello, everyone! My name is Pingo. I am a little bit of a unique kitty — I really like to be petted! I love pets all over my body, and I'll stretch all the way into your hand for them, but I also really like to find a nice quiet place to hide in. It does take a little bit of time for me to trust people. If you are patient with me and gentle with me, I will make biscuits all day long for you. “I do like other cats, so I won't mind having a friend. I would appreciate my new home to be calm and patient with me so I have time to really become the kitty I know I can be. Plus, look at how cute my face is! Please schedule an appointment to come by and meet me today!” To find out more about Pingo’s current location and availability, contact AFA’s Mulberry campus at 970-484-8516.
