Skilton, Paul Woolley and R. B. Kuiper writing in relation to Scrip ture and their respective disciplines. The contributions of Murray, Young and Skilton have been extensively re vised for this re-issue. Written from an obvious love for the Word and its Lord, this work is one of the finest recent scholarly declarations on this aspect of the faith. For those with doubts it must be read to balance much of the low view of inspiration now appearing. For those committed to inerrancy, it will strengthen their faith.—301 pages; paper; Presbyterian and Re formed Publishing Co., Philadelphia, Pa.; — Reviewed by Dr. Robert L. Saucy. How does one present Jesus Christ to society of today with its rapidly changing standards and mores of to day? The president of Eastern Men- nonite College points out the fact that faith, and faith alone, is that which makes the life of man relevant in the altering panorama of personal exist ence. The helpful suggestions are in tensely practical which will enable the bom again Christian to relate his knowledge of Jesus Christ to a world of unbelief, struggling in con fusion for specific direction. — 96 pages; cloth; Word Books, Waco, Texas; $2.95. One cannot read this book and merely turn away. I have read others, evaluated statistics, and other data on poverty written by professional laymen concerning men and women, but I have not read of what an urban minister is involved in. This is the pulse of the urban poor documented by a concerned minister. More than this, it is a plea concerning the every day problems of trying to stay alive. It is shocking, practical, full of what I refer to as "real people with real problems,” whom the church has let disintegrate by moving away, rather than staying to minister to them. The book is a challenge for all of us to “ put feet to our prayer,” rath er than piously becoming oblivious to the problems. Christians of all de nominations should read this book and evaluate their system of beliefs in terms of values, compassion, and rededication to the gospel call to be witnesses in all places, including the urban poor.—133 pages; paper; The Macmillan Co., New York; $1.95.
