donation as well as by a successful double lung transplant patient will also be given, followed by a silent auction to close the eve- ning. Last but not least, people will also be able to register for organ donation on site. «This is a very exciting project as a new procedure has been developed in the treat- ment of PH”, added Mrs Johnston. “It is a procedure where they use stemcells instead of transplant. The stemcells will rejuvenate the lungs and the heart so that no transplant is required.” Duncan Stewart, MD, is a cardiologist at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, whom they are hoping will be present to talk about this breakthrough. Today, in Ontario, there are over 1,500 people waiting for a lifesaving organ trans- plant. This is their only treatment option, and every three days, someone will die because they did not get their transplant in time. Beadonor.ca is a website where it is pos- sible to register, verify registration and get the facts online. As it is said on the website, it only takes 2 minutes to register.
