SUSTAINABILITY REPORT 2025 LOW

Sustainability Report | 2025

Carbon Strategy Sofap's carbon strategy has been developed in collaboration with relevant departments and is built around short, medium, and long-term objectives. Rather than committing to ambitious emission reduction targets that may not be within our direct control, Sofap has chosen to focus on practical, measurable actions that improve operational efficiency and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. Our 2023 carbon footprint assessment revealed that 98% of our total greenhouse gas emissions originate from our supply chain. Given that these emissions largely fall outside our direct operational control, it would not be realistic to commit significant reductions in our overall carbon footprint. Instead, our strategy focuses on areas where we can have the greatest direct impact. An energy audit was conducted to assess the company’s energy performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency across our operations; reducing operating costs by lowering electricity and fuel consumption; minimising the amount of waste sent to landfill; and increasing the procurement of locally sourced consumables. By concentrating on these priorities, we aim to achieve steady, credible progress while progressively engaging our suppliers to reduce value chain emissions over the longer term.
