What I did: I worked through courses and trainings to receive my life and health insurance license. I then learned all about the financial planning cycle and how to start building a client base. I did some market surveys to get used to using specific language and then I started making phone calls to set up meetings with new clients, which I sat in on along with one of our experienced financial advisors. What I liked: I enjoyed working with the people at Northwestern Mutual, they are all very nice and welcoming. I really liked learning more about the financial planning process and how Northwestern Mutual focuses on how they can help their clients and not on selling their products or services to the clients. It was fun to make phone calls and get to build my network in and outside of the office.
Future Dream Job: Unknown, possibly a financial planner.
