INTRODUCTION We are seeking to appoint a Senior M&E Project Manager to develop, implement and manage a strategic investment plan. Working closely with the Facilities & Engineering team, the successful candidate will ensure consistent, high quality and compliant delivery of all projects delivered. With a broad knowledge of complex engineering systems and project delivery processes, you will liaise closely with the facilities team and other stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of projects without impacting operations. Opened by Charles Henry Harrod, an East End grocer and tea merchant, in 1834, relocating to Knightsbridge in 1849, the Harrods store is recognised globally as a symbol of excellence. The desire to make the impossible possible is embedded in their culture. This is why today, they ask all of their colleagues to believe in the Art of the Possible. To challenge all conventional views of what is and isn’t possible and in turn creating new possibilities into an art form. Reporting to the Head of FM, you will be the primary link with the Store Development team. You will develop and maintain specifications, and the process of interaction between the teams so that development projects can be maintained once operational. As well as ensuring post completion activities are achieved including asset capture, PPM implementation, maintenance agreements, spares delivery and defects rectification.

POSITION PURPOSE To work closely with the Facilities & Engineering Team to ensure consistent, high quality and compliant delivery of all projects delivered by the Facilities Team, You will also be responsible for the development, implementation and management of a strategic investment plan. You will have a mechanical and/or electrical qualification, and ideally be a qualified Project Manager too. You will be experienced across all engineering systems and project delivery processes coupled with a good understanding of operational requirements and delivery. You will liaise closely with the Facilities Team and also other stakeholders across Harrods to help ensure the smooth delivery of projects without impacting operations. You will be the primary link with our Store Development Team. You will develop and maintain specifications, and the process of interaction between the teams so that Development projects can be maintained once operational. You will coordinate review and comment processes and ensure agreed elements are adopted at the relevant milestones. For Development and Facilities projects you will mange and ensure post completion activities including asset capture, PPM implementation, , Maintenance Agreements, spares delivery and defects rectification. • .

JOB DESCRIPTION

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES • Responsibility for individual varied projects from inception to completion, handover and defects. • Provide the external consultants and Harrods team support in the design and development of mechanical, electrical, public health systems and any other requirements across all projects. • Manage all consultants in the full delivery of their services on the projects assigned, including fees, appointments, change control and issue resolution. • Effectively liaise with Harrods Store Development to deliver all projects. • Effectively liaise with Harrods IT, Fire, Health & Safety Department, Security and all other relevant stakeholders to ensure requirements are delivered through the project and operational impacts are managed. Communication is key. • Ensure all installations meet the Harrods requirements as specified in agreed documents. • Ensure methodical handover of projects from contractors to Facilities and Engineering teams. • Ensure all necessary documentation required from the contractor is issued, and subsequently implemented to run and maintain the building. • Ensures that O&M’s manuals are delivered on conclusion of projects, and that information is accessible. • Analyse and review schemes presented by designers and architects – collate comments from teams and track inclusion in delivered schemes. Manage and resolve issues. • Prepare and draw up projected programme for works and ensure projects adhere to programme. • Support managers with capital warrants including preparation of budgets, outline designs and project summaries. Submit to business for approval and manage process. • Manage projects by discussing brief, drawing up technical specifications,

preparing tenders, directing technical support teams, managing tenders and reviewing all through to completion. • Effectively facilitate relevant meetings, record proceedings and communicate with tact and clarity to all parties. • Ensure all projects are carried out to the high standards laid down by Harrods and are managed effectively within the agreed budgets. • Be fully aware and implement Health and Safety regulations and raise any concerns with management for resolution. • Effectively liaise with all user groups within Harrods e.g. Store Operations, Security, Fire Safety Department, HIS, Engineers, etc. • Assist in the development of the Store Planning strategy within the Store. • Develop and implement processes for more effective asset capture and use. • Complete any other tasks as requested by line manager. • Support response to project issues as and when they arise. • Develop and implement dashboard reports and support the monthly reporting process. • Develop, implement and manage a strategic investment plan for Facilities and Engineering. • To actively coach the team to improve their understanding of project process and good project delivery and improve overall project delivery as a result. • Critical member of the Facilities & Engineering Department Senior Management Team • Integral member, and potential leader, of a Duty Management Team with responsibility for the team when on rota. • Possess a good all-round knowledge of building services in general, but especially electrical power, mechanical, water treatment and cooling tower operations, refrigeration, lefts/escalators, controls, heating, ventilation and air conditioning.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED • A mechanical and/or electrical qualification – ideally degree level. • A Project Management qualification eg.APM is preferred. • Experience working in operational environments and the ability to use that in project scope/design/delivery • Experienced across all engineering systems and project delivery processes • On a rota basis, provide operational engineering cover for weekends, bank holidays and late night store opening. • Be a great leader of teams, looking to continuously improve self, others and the department. • Represent Head of Facilities and other colleagues, maintaining the departments reputation

OTHER • Minimum 5 years’ experience, of Mechanical and Electrical related project management role delivering for an operationally critical environment. • Professionally qualified in construction with an engineering related degree, HND or equivalent with a clear understanding of the principles of good design. • Practically experienced in construction and project management from inception to completion. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills allied with tact and diplomacy. • Highly organised with strong analytical skills. • Enthusiastic and confident with the determination to get the job done at all costs. • A team player with a desire for excellence. • Able to work with, oversee and steer a design team responsible for project designs
