Fisher qualified for the IPRA finals in Quebec in October. “It was a great 10 days,” says his father Steve Fisher of the Festival Western St- Tite. Steve and sons Matt and Shawn all ride and raise rodeo stock. Steve Fisher was instrumental in bringing rodeo events to Russell, including Rawhide Rodeo and western events at the Russell Fair. Matt also quali- fied for the finals but had to decline. “He went head to head with a bull,” says Steve. “So he can’t ride right now, otherwise he’d have been there.” One of the Fisher farm’s bulls, Fisher’s Gold, also made the cut.
