Zest, our in-house physical exercise programme, continues to deliver regular resident physical exercise sessions as part of everyday life in our care homes. Our National Wellbeing Manager trains our care home colleagues to become Zest Champions, all of whom deliver group and individual physical activity sessions for residents. Zest Relaxation offers a guided stretching and mindfulness programme and individual Zest plans have been developed for 20 residents. Our Power of Music initiative, a four-month celebration of the positive impact music can have on mental and physical health, saw the introduction of a number of different activities to in care homes. The ‘Together Choir’ was a national community choir project, supported by monthly online choir rehearsals, and culminated in a virtual choir practice and performance on 13 December, including residents from Anchor care and housing locations, as well as primary schools.
