THE K I N G ' S B U S I N E S S Where did Elisha go? How did the sons of the prophets greet Elisha? What did the sons of the prophets wish to do? How did Elisha answer the sons of the prophets? What was the result of the search of the sons of the prophets? Practical Questions Why did Elisha refuse to obey Eli jah when asked to remain at Gilgal? Did Elijah know that he was to be translated that day? How did the sons of the prophets and Elisha know it? Why did Elisha tell the sons of the prophets to hold their peace? Why does Elisha stick so tenaciously to Elijah? Was Elijah testing Elisha in urging him to remain at the schools of the prophets? Did Elisha expect a fullness of power at Elijah’s departure? Personal Questions Ought we to receive a fulness of power at Jesus’ departure? Ought we not to go forth expecting God’s anointing power to work as Elisha did? Ought we to search for Christ in some mysterious way as the sons of the prophets searched for Elijah, and not believe the Apostles’ statements that He was taken up into heaven and seated on the right hand of God? Ought we to be faithful to those over us in the Lord as Elisha was? Will we receive added power accord ing to added responsibility? God Takes Elijah to Heaven. 2 Kings 2 : 1 - 11 . Memory Verse.— “ I go to prepare a place for you.” John 14:2. Approach.—We all look so bright and happy this morning, and that is the way we should look, for we love Jesus, and we just can not help being happy.

Did you ever go on a long journey on BEGINNERS AND PRIMARY the steam cars, or Mabel L. Merrill on a big boat? Bob bie, where did you go? On the steam cars to see grand mother, who lives away off in another part of the country. You were with father and sister, and did some one go to the station to see you off on the train? Of course we always have such a good time when we go visiting, and I think we have just lots of fun getting ready to go, don’t you? We have talked about some of our trips this morning, because we are to hear about two friends who travelled together for a lit tle distance, and then one had to say good-bye to the other, just like we who only go to the station, have to do. Let us bow our heads and thank Jesus for our Sunday School, where we have such good times hearing about so many lovely people whom we are going to meet again up in beaven. Lesson Story.—We have learned to love the faithful prophet of God, Eli jah, very much, and I wonder how many of you will be just real glad to see him when we get to heaven, and will run up and tell him how we got acquainted with him down here in our Sunday School? God could always count on Elijah to do as He asked him to do. Can God count on you and me to do what He has asked us to do in His Word, the Bible? God told Elijah that his Work here on earth was finished, and that He (God) was going to take him up to heaven. Elijah had a friend, another prophet of God. whose name was Elisha, who was with Elijah on this last day here on this earth. As these two dear friends stopped at dif ferent places along the way, Elijah asked Elisha to stay' there while he went on, but Elisha answered and said, “ As surely as the Lord liveth, and as thou art living, I will not leave thee.” Now they have come to the river Jordan
