BE READY FOR THIS YEAR’S WEDDING SEASON The Time for Celebration

Whether it’s a wedding, a graduation, or any other major life event, people want to look their best for the big day. Family and friends gather, and photographers are ready to capture every moment. These memories will surely last a lifetime. As spring arrives, people are already thinking about the upcoming wedding season. If you want to look amazing this summer, now is the perfect time to get started. That way, you avoid the rush and can turn your attention to more important things. One of the most common requests I hear is for whiter teeth. It’s a simple and straightforward way to improve your smile. For my patients, I recommend using a combination of Oral Essentials toothpaste, mouthwash, and whitening strips. Together, these work to whiten and brighten your smile in a safe and healthy way. As you may know, traditional whitening methods can be harmful to your teeth. Whitening agents can damage tooth enamel over time, leading to sensitivity. This sensitivity can turn into pain, making it uncomfortable to perform even the most basic daily activities, like brushing your teeth and eating. And when you’re getting ready for your big day, the last thing you want to worry about is tooth sensitivity. When it comes to teeth whitening, there are two primary options: in-office whitening and at-home whitening. The biggest difference between the two is the time it takes to see results. With the in- office option, results are immediate. When you go home after your appointment, your teeth will be several shades whiter. The at-home option takes a little longer, but you’ll start to see initial results in the first 30 minutes. After about a week of daily whitening, your teeth will be several shades whiter. Combine the whitening strips with the toothpaste and mouthwash, and your smile will be gleaming. Sometimes, a bride, a groom, or both may want more than whiter teeth. They may want to significantly improve their smiles. Straightening teeth is the best way to further enhance the appearance of a smile.

In these cases, I may suggest a smile makeover with veneers. It’s a more involved process, but the results speak for themselves. Within 1–2 weeks, a bride can achieve the results she desires and be ready for the big day. A great thing about a smile makeover with veneers is that there is no downtime. As we begin the process, you are given temporaries for your teeth. There is no need to skip work, school, meetings, or any of life’s other activities. The whole process fits in with even the busiest schedules. Then as we wrap up, we remove the temporaries and cement in the veneers. Once they are in place, you can go back to life without skipping a beat. With such a convenient process, you are free to focus on what truly matters. As the season of celebration arrives, think about what you want out of your smile. Be ready to make those memories and confidently capture every perfect moment.

BEFORE German countess Karlotta Liebenstein left her entire $80 million fortune to her German shepherd, Gunther III. Trustees for the canine’s estate have made some excellent investments since then, growing the fortune to $375 million — a sum that was inherited by Gunther III’s son, Gunther IV. Today, this top dog dines on steak and caviar, is chauffeured by limousine, and owns villas around the world, including a Miami Beach mansion once belonging to Madonna. AFTER Since humans first domesticated dogs almost 40,000 years ago, people have happily kept pets around. We feed them, groom them, and occasionally let them sleep on the bed. Some people love their pets so much they make sure their animals will inherit a vast fortune in the case of their owner’s death. Here are a few pets who, thanks to their dedicated owners, are truly living the good life. Gigoo Fortune: $15 million When British publisher Miles Blackwell and his wife, Briony, passed away within weeks of each other, the childless couple left most of their fortune to a charity trust. About $42.5 million went to benefit arts, music, and animal welfare causes. However, the Blackwells didn’t forget about their favorite pet, Gigoo the hen. The $15 million Gigoo inherited to ensure she was taken care of made her the only bird on Time magazine’s “10 Richest Pets of All Time.” Gunther IV Fortune: $375 million Wealthiest Pets The World’s

Grumpy Cat Fortune: Between $1–100 million

While most rich pets inherit wealth, Grumpy Cat, whose real name is Tardar Sauce, is a self-made millionaire. Born with a form of dwarfism, the world fell in love with Grumpy Cat when pictures of her perpetual frown circled the internet in 2012. The meme sensation soon made the jump to real world celebrity, becoming the official spokescat for Friskies cat food and starring in her own movie, “Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever.” Sources claim Grumpy Cat is worth over $100 million. Her owner says this number is inaccurate, but one thing is certain — whatever she’s frowning about, it’s not her bank account. This list is a clear reminder of how much people love their pets. Of course, instead of a vast fortune, most of us are content to show our affection with an extra treat before dinner. After all, our pets probably don’t even know the difference.

Why Do We Care About White Teeth?

It happens to everyone. One day, you’re standing in front of the mirror getting ready for work and you notice your teeth have begun to take on an unsightly shade of yellow. Even the most diligent brushers and flossers will eventually notice their teeth aren’t as bright as they would like. Unless you only drink water and eat colorless gelatin, your teeth are going to become stained with time. If yellowing teeth are a natural part of the human experience, why does it bother us so much? Well, our aversion to unsightly stained teeth may have something to do with psychology. White, shiny teeth are perceived as healthier than teeth that are yellow or stained. When we see someone with stained teeth, we often form certain opinions about them. Whether these opinions are justified or not is another matter, but that prejudice can affect how we treat each other and how we view ourselves. Since whiter teeth encourage more positive thinking, people who whiten their teeth often report a feeling of higher self-esteem and confidence, and this can translate into amazing results in other areas of life, as well.

Improved Social Connections Who would you rather spend time with: someone who smiles and laughs freely, or someone who never cracks a smile and rarely speaks up because they are embarrassed by their teeth? When we feel confident about our teeth, the way we carry ourselves and interact with others changes. This confidence carries over into job interviews and even first dates! Enhanced Mood In addition to improved confidence, whiter teeth increase feelings of happiness. When we don’t feel self-conscious about our smiles, we smile more. Smiling releases endorphins, so this act can create a feedback loop of even more happiness! Lower Risk of Oral Problems Individuals who whiten their teeth are more likely to maintain that bright shine for as long as possible through proper dental hygiene. Regular oral care is vital for preventing serious health risks like tooth decay and gum disease. During your next visit, don’t forget to ask about which whitening treatments we recommend. We can help you enjoy bright, beautiful teeth every day!

The 3 Best Places to See Beautiful Flowers

Flower Displays Anza-Borrego Desert State Park Desert lavender, flowering cacti, pygmy poppies, and rock daisies are just a few of the many wildflowers decorating Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. The various native species are often seen weaved together to form a colorful carpet over any barren patch in the park, which is located just two hours from San Diego. In addition to flowers, visitors often spot bighorn sheep. Wildflower blossoms vary in intensity each year, but they typically begin to bloom in late February or early March.

EARTH’S MOST BEAUTIFUL

Spring is here, which means flora will soon be in full bloom. Flowers can be an easy pick-me-up or a great way to add color to your home, but some people take their flower obsession to the next level by planning botanical-themed vacations. Here are some of the most impressive gardens and flower displays in the world. Netherlands Holland, most famous for its tulips, always draws visitors at the first sign of spring. One of its most famous destinations, Keukenhof, located in Lisse, is among the world’s largest flower gardens. The park is 79 acres and boasts approximately 7 million flowers each year. This colorful garden is open annually from mid-March to mid-May, but mid- April is the ideal time to see the tulips. Washington, D.C. Besides the monuments and historic buildings, one of the biggest attractions in Washington, D.C. is the cherry tree blossoms. Travelers who visit the Tidal Basin during the spring can witness 3,000 trees, which were a gift from Tokyo in 1912, flaunt their beautiful pink blossoms. The best time to see the spectacle is from the end of March through the end of April.

Next time you’re planning a spring trip, consider visiting one of the world’s most beautiful flower displays. No green thumb required.
