This course will review technique tips and tricks for consistently obtaining excellent 2D intra-oral and extra-oral images. Participants will review prescribing images, keeping the dose as low as possible, learn how to avoid common errors and learn tips for managing challenging cases and recognizing pathology. Learning Objectives: • Understand how to reduce patient dose • Understand how to consistently take excellent bitewing, periapical and panoramic images • Recognize common errors and pathologies

Dr. Anthea Senior graduated from the University of Newcastle (U.K.) in 1992 and worked as a general dentist for the following nine years. She joined the University of Alberta in 2003 and is an Associate professor, Division of Radiology, at the School of Dentistry. Dr. Senior lectures to both dental and dental hygiene students and regularly supervises radiology technique and interpretation in clinical and laboratory settings.
