Peri-implant bone loss is a complex, multi-faceted phenomenon that we sometimes struggle to understand and manage. This course will review types of peri-implant bone loss, possible classification systems and purported solutions, as well as present guidelines on prevention. Learning Objectives: • Recognize the differences between early and late peri-implant bone loss • Appreciate the critical relationship between the osseous crest, gingival tissues and titanium as they relate to bone loss prevention • Observe how a more thorough understanding of these concepts can aid the clinician in achieving better functional and esthetic success

Dr. Dale Rosenbach attended New Jersey Dental School, followed by Columbia University for periodontics. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and has authored numerous published articles. Dr. Rosenbach is the project head for WikiProject Dentistry on Wikipedia and is an internationally recognized speaker, having presented more than 150 lectures spanning more than 1,000 hours of continuing education.
