Digital: Not Your Grandma’s Dentures Anymore!

Ronni Schnell, DMD, MAGD, FICD

When was the last time the words “dentures and innovative” appeared in the same sentence? Digitally scanned, designed and milled dentures are generating attention and excitement by digitizing most steps of the fabrication process by utilizing conventional principles that all dentists know and without any additional investment by the dentist. Creating great removable prostheses requires a basic understanding of making great denture impressions and obtaining proper records, regardless of the method (conventional versus digital). This course will introduce you to the latest advances in complete dentures and show how you, too, can take a fresh look at removable prosthodontics, something you may not have done since dental school. Let’s get started! Learning Objectives: • Compare digital versus conventional techniques • Understand and utilize various impression techniques and occlusal records • Incorporate digital technology easily into your practice with checksheets
