Restaurant Review: Apis Meadery & Winery 212 East Main Street, Carnegie, PA 15106 By: Caitie Zavora, PTA My husband and I came down here on a Carnegie Crawl night, where most restaurants and shops stay open late on the second Friday of the month. We have heard great things about it and knew there would be more going on in Carnegie than usual, so we decided to check it out! When you first walk into the building, it is dimly lit, with a few booths and high tops for seating. I knew I liked this place immediately as there were several board games to choose from to play with the people you come with. We walked up to the small counter and decided to each get a sampler - since my husband and I have different tastes and we wanted to try multiple flavors, this made the most sense. We were able to try a total of 10 different flavors which was awesome and made it easy to eliminate which flavors we may enjoy enough to take home at the end of the evening. One of the employees took the time to describe every flavor on the menu which was very helpful when deciding what to get. In addition to samplers, you are able to purchase mead by the glass and are able to purchase bottles to take home. This establishment does not serve food, however, there are several restaurants close by where you can grab a bite to eat and bring it back to the meadery. If you are looking for something unique and different, give this place a try!
