Be safe during Grad Week
There are just a few weeks left now in the school calendar before Graduation and all throughout the Prescott-Russell region and across the nation, local First Responder agencies are organizing Safe Grad promotion events in partnership with their local school districts. At St. Francis Xavier Catholic Elementary School in Hammond, a cool and blustery Monday morning in the middle of May was the scene for a bloody mockumentary scenario for the senior class of what could be the consequences of an accident where alcohol or drugs or both are involved. About half a dozen students from other grades took on the roles of accident victims and grieving friends whilemembers of the OPP, the Clarence-Rockland Fire Department and the Prescott-Russell Ambulance Services unit dealt with the injured, the dead, and the griefstricken.
