The Society of Light and Lighting (SLL) has launched the latest Lighting Guide – 07 (LG7): Offices addressing uncertainty around how office space will be used in the future and the reuse of existing equipment. With increased hybrid working and the use of portable devices, people are spending less time at their desks and in the office. This revision of Lighting Guide 7 now includes home office lighting advice. For the first time, this guidance includes a chapter focused on the impact of embodied and operational energy; it also encourages the re-use of equipment where possible. SLL’s TM66: Creating a circular economy in the lighting industry, provides more detailed information on reusing existing equipment. The SLL is a division of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE); the LG7 guides apply in general to Northern Ireland but there are minor variations for LG12 Emergency lighting.
