summer of 2016. Our good friends suggested we travel to ORPS for our first winter “ snow birding ” experience. Little did we know that by the end of the first winter and with meeting such great people, we fell in love with this wonderful place. We rented for two years prior to purchasing our lot in March 2018. I attended Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta. After graduating in 1994, I successfully completed the Professional Program and received my Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation. Prior to completing the CMA Professional Program, I began my accounting career at Shell Canada. My 22 - year career at Shell Canada was in the corporate finance division with roles ranging from Group Reporting to my final role as Global IT Process Expert for Projects and Assets. I was also involved in two system software conversions as a process focal and system expert. For five years I was the Finance Lead with the Shell North America Incident support Team and attended the annual disaster response team in “ mock disasters ” in Halifax, Houston, Seattle, and Calgary. I believe a serious focus on the resort ’ s financial health needs to be a priority. This can be achieved by focussing on all aspects of the financial picture, revenue, and expenses. As an HOA we also need to focus on our reserve fund. Failing to maintain a strong financial focus will ultimately lead to increased HOA assessments. I also believe a great HOA governed community can only be achieved if it has a solid set of rules. The rules need to be fair, reasonable, and not burdening. A rule that favors one resort resident over another does not achieve those objectives. Rules need to be enforced with understanding and compassion, to be written with fairness and to be understood and respected by all owners, renters, and guests. I would invite owners to contact me to discuss any issues or concerns they might have. ORPS is an owner ’ s HOA, your voice and input is important.

After graduating from California State University Long Beach, I began my working life in sales and marketing, management and ownership of several businesses. I have worked with individuals, large groups and multinational companies. I traveled the world spending too much time in airplanes, board rooms and hotels. My last position as co - owner of FSG Inc. was the most rewarding and the most complex. Manufacturing glass molds for angioplasty and stent delivery balloons for the major medical companies around the world, helping save lives and employing people was most rewarding. In 2007 I retired, sold my share of the Company and now play at ORPS I ’ m currently on the Planning Committee and belong to FMCA - ORPS. In the past I was President of the Gold Country Lions Club, Youth Services Chairman District 5140 Rotary International and President of the Cement Hill Road Association. I was the first Race Director of the Gold Country Marathon and Road Races. The biggest test of my abilities to organize and lead was the Amgen Tour of California professional bicycle race. I worked with city, county and state entities and City Police, County Sheriff ’ s and the California Highway Patrol. I registered several hundred volunteers for race day and had them show up and perform flawlessly. In all of my endeavors, I have had to work with a budget and communicate effectively.
