1960s Bruce Switzer ’60 volunteered for over six years as a driver for the Canadian Cancer Society, after losing his wife to cancer. One of his most moving experiences was directly helping to successfully reunite a family with help from the Internet and his own ingenuity and letter- writing skills. Now in his 83rd year and residing in Ottawa, Bruce lives a quiet life. He is currently enrolled in the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging run by McMaster University; they determine why some people age more slowly than others.

Fong Ling Si-Hoe ’82 visited the school in August while travelling from Singapore. She enjoyed some time in Niagara Falls and Toronto with her daughter before heading to the United States. Fong Ling enjoyed seeing the Memorial Chapel, A Wing classrooms and Ackerman Hall, where she used to wait tables in her senior years at Albert.

1980s

Monique Steger ’87 visited Albert College with her son, Jamie, in the fall. Monique studied at Carleton University and works at a company called Stetron, an innovative worldwide audio solutions provider.

Iain Morton ’80 has moved to Stirling, Ontario. He grew up in Tweed, Ontario and is grateful he was to be able to attend Albert, starting as a day student and then as a boarder. During a recent visit, he shared that he couldn’t believe that it had been 42 years since he was last on campus. Iain attended Queen’s University after Albert and is married with two sons and four grandchildren. He recently retired after a career in finance. After running into his former classmate and Albert College faculty, Mark Schneider ’85, he attended the Candlelight Carol Service this year. Iain enjoys shooting sport and wildlife photography.

Drummond Robertson ’88 and his family visited the school in July 2022. Drummond was excited to show his whole family the school.
