The VenoArt National Loving Day Auction

The holiday that we most associate with love or loving is Valentines Day. Of course, Mother's Day, Father's Day, even the 4th of July are about love. But this June, VenoArt will host an auction in honor of National Loving Day. Named for Mildred and Richard Loving, whose marriage in 1958 broke Virginia law since they were of different races. June 12 is that day celebrated in the United States and other countries to honor the 1967 Supreme Court ruling that struck down laws in many states that prohibited couples of different races to marry. If you would like to help celebrate this special day, join Venoart online for its first annual Loving Day Art Auction. It will be held June 11th. 2PM. EST. The VenoArt team partners with artists and children's charities to raise funds to promote children's health and artists livelihoods. We eliminate the middle man so you can purchase what your heart longs for even on a budget. If you love art and you love love----then join VenoArt on June 11 as we celebrate Loving Day.

Artist: Daniel Gibert Perez I am an artist based in Barcelona, Spain. My works are part of figurative minimalism. I seek to communicate ideas, feelings, and emo- tions with the minimum possible elements. I seek to express deep ideas through flat colors in compositions where the human being is a simple spectator. I am fascinated by the sea, the sky, and the light of the Mediterranean. My paintings seek to express the admiration of man against nature. My desire to transmit a mixture of calm, reflection, and respect for the environment. I seek to create works that are calm, pleasant, honest, and quick to understand. Statement: The “happy solitude” consists of being alone voluntarily and finding satisfaction and fulfillment in that specific situation. Unlike unwanted or forced solitude, happy solitude is a conscious and deliberate choice, where a person seeks moments of isolation and reflection to enjoy his or her own company. Artist: Daniel Gibert Perez Oil on Canvas Title: Happy Solitude 38 x 32 x 1.3 in Lot: 106 Starting bid: $1300 Barcelona, Spain

Artist: Francien Krieg Statement: Over the last few years Francien has created a series of paintings, which stylistically dovetail into its overall work. This inter- esting new series came about by the birth of her long-desired second child, Benjamin. Strong emotion is evident in all these paintings, which characterise both herself and her family. The concept of the young family is artfully explored in the light of this introspection. She says about this series: “The growth of a child is profoundly beautiful, but also something sad for me, slightly melancholic, it adds up to what is fleeting.” The series of family portraits give a new and different impetus to Francien’s oeuvre. It matches the essential element of her work: she keeps in touch with her personal and primary creative urge, in which the human body is central, and im- permanence is the core. Moreover, she demonstrates the growing development of her talent. The essence of all her work involves the creation of an interaction between the viewer and the painting, the hallmark of fine art. Statement: The Conference of the Birds series is a deeply personal response to the Sufi fable of the same name, written by Farideddin Attar, 12th century Persian mystic. Attar’s verse focuses on a flock of birds who, in time of chaos and darkness, decide they need a King. Thus begins their quest for the Phoenix (Simorgh), and they embark upon an allegorical visit to seven valleys. After enduring increasing hardships, doubt and exhaustion set in and more and more birds give up the quest. In a play on the Persian word Simorgh (Phoenix) they end their journey with Si-Morgh (thirty birds), in the end realizing that the Phoenix is nothing more than those birds themselves who persevered and endured the path through Self-sacrifice and steadfastness. Artist: Ernest Compta Llinas Catalan artist and architect, I live and work in Barcelona. My works try to express social and emotional diversity through the face. Over the years I have moved between styles and formats, but I have always worked with the same theme: facial portrait. I work mainly with acrylics on canvas and paper, although some pieces are made with charcoal, oil, pastel and inks. My stylistic influences include abstraction and expressionism. The range of anonymous faces runs on the identity of the characters. I try to express through facial features, looks and gestures, the nuances, complexity and contrasts of the emotional state of the subjects as a reflection

of the mood and essential human aspects. Materials & Techniques: Acrylic on Paper
