Fun Run helps future nurse
Ambulance to Ukraine The United Counties of Prescott-Russell (UCPR) will be the first municipal government in Ontario to take part in a project to help Ukraine with its emergency medical transport needs. Counties council agreed to approve donation of Unit 4407, which is surplus to local ambulance needs, to a special foreign aid program geared towards helping other countries with emergency transportation and equipment needs. – Gregg Chamberlain

KarianeMiner would like to be a nurse. To be more exact, she would like to work as a pediatric nurse. «I like what they do,» the 18-year-old St- Bernardin resident explained during a quick interview before the start of the$ird Annual Rockland Sports Fun Run. Miner was diagnosed with lupus, an autoimmune disease, and has undergone a hip replacement and may need another operation in future. But she continues to pursue her dream, with plans for online studies. When she is not spending time with her family and doing things with her friends like watchingmovies. All of the runners taking part in the Fun run on a blustery Sunday morning raised more than $3200 to help Miner make her nursing dream a reality.
