providing services to youth since 1972, making it a founding program of the agency. Since 2004, a significant component of our services has been offered in partnership with PCRS in a sub- contractual agreement.
CURFEW MONITORING PROGRAM (CMP) Provides support to young people who are on court or bail orders and are residing in the community. In addition, staff provide parents with support, information, and resources to assist in strengthening the family dynamic. HIGH RISK YOUTH JUSTICE PROGRAM (HRYJ) This program works in partnership with 9 other community agencies that is connected to the City of Surrey’s SAFE Initiative . This program provides intensive 1-1 and group support to young people, between the ages of 8 – 18, who are identified as at-risk of gang involvement. HRYJ workers provides mentorship, education, and resources, to young people to encourage program participants to choose positive pathways. HRYJ program is an active member of the Child High-Risk Action Response Table (CHART) that gathers weekly to strategize how to best support at-risk young people. INTENSIVE SUPPORT AND SUPERVISION PROGRAM (ISSP) Provides support to young people ages 12 – 18 (or as directed by MCFD) in engaging in pro- social activity in the community as an alternative to criminal involvement. All referrals are through Surrey Youth Probations. LIFE SKILLS PROGRAMMING Life Skills offers 2 program streams to support government connected young people: Prep Zone – a weekly program targets youth ages 15 – 18; and Survive Alive and Strive (SAS) – a curriculum, designed by a person with lived experience, that supports young people ages 19- 26 in their transition to adulthood. Youth in this program are financially supported by MCFD. MIND OVER EMOTION PROGRAM (M/E) This 10-week, emotional regulation program, is offered to all program participants that are connected to the various services within the department. Upon successful completion of all the learning objectives, young people receive a certificate of participation. OPTIONS FOR YOUTH (OFY) OFY is a youth led television series aired on Shaw Cable that is produced by OCS.
