Pre-Medicine & Allied Health
In this pathway, you will step beyond basic textbooks and into the role of a healthcare professional. Under the guidance of medical standards, you will gain essential clinical and administrative skills — from patient intake, vital sign assessment, and diagnostic procedures to medical ethics, pharmacology, and clinical examination assistance. Through interactive medical lab simulations, clinical skills practice, and case studies, students build mastery across essential clinical and administrative domains. Upon completing the program, students gain the foundational skills necessary to excel in the healthcare field, along with versatile skills applicable to a wide range of pre-professional health careers. With hands-on clinical practice and professional guidance, graduates are well- equipped to pursue advanced post-secondary degrees or enter the workforce with a strong clinical foundation.. Year One & Year Two
Foundations of Pre-Medicine & Allied Health Year 1 This program offers foundational skills for entry into the healthcare field, teaching students medical terminology and the structure and function of the human body’s major systems. Participants gain hands-on experience through clinical lab simulations, mastering tasks such as patient intake, vital sign assessment, routine diagnostic procedures, and emergency first-aid protocols. Foundations of Pre-Medicine & Allied Health Year 2 Designed for second-year students, this program builds upon foundational knowledge with advanced skills in clinical diagnostics and patient communication. Students continue to work with industry-standard medical equipment while navigating patient rights, HIPAA privacy laws, and effective patient communication strategies. Emphasizing real-world application, students engage in daily exposure to practical scenarios through electronic health records management and front-office workflows, along with clinical shadowing and mentorships with physicians, radiologists, physical therapists, pharmacists, and diagnostic specialists.

Concurrent Enrollment Get a head start on your pre-med or allied health degree. Through our concurrent enrollment partnerships, the courses below earn tuition-free college credit that transfers directly into university pre-health programs. The principles and skills taught in the Foundations of Pre-Medicine & Allied Health program are relevant across a spectrum of healthcare career paths. Students acquire knowledge of anatomy, clinical procedures, patient care, and medical ethics forming the bedrock for careers ranging from direct patient care to diagnostics, therapy, and pharmaceutical science. Students compete in clinical, emergency, and leadership events through HOSA – Future Health Professionals.
Medical Science Foundations
Students will learn the language of healthcare, mastering medical terminology, root words, prefixes, and suffixes used to describe body systems, conditions, and procedures. This course is equivalent to ALH 101: Medical Terminology and worth 3 credits at the college level.
Human Anatomy & Clinical Care
Students will study the structure and function of the human body’s major systems, from skeletal and muscular to cardiovascular and nervous, building the foundation for all future clinical coursework. This course is equivalent to BIO 201: Human Anatomy & Physiology. This course is worth 3 college credits

Healthcare Law, Ethics & Communications
Students will navigate patient rights, HIPAA privacy laws, and medical ethics while developing effective patient communication strategies used across clinical settings. This course is equivalent to HSC 105: Healthcare Law, Ethics & Diversity. Completeion of this course is worth 3 collge credits
Clinical DIagnostic Procedures
Students will perform patient intake, measure vital signs, and practice routine diagnostic testing and recording procedures using industry-standard equipment. This course is equivalent to MAP 110: Introduction to Clinical Procedures. The course is worth 3 colege credits

If you find a program that interests you, we encourage you to apply to Region 10 Technical High School. Understanding the three steps required for successful enrollment and knowing when to apply to the school is essential.

SUBMIT ONLINE APPLICATION Complete the brief online application at www.r10tech.org. Submission of this form will send an e-mail to parents requesting their signature. Thus, the parent’s e-mail address is needed for this form.
VISIT THE SCHOOL & MEET INSTRUCTOR Once your application is received, you’ll be invited to visit our school. Your application becomes valid only after meeting with the program instructor. Your guidance counselor will arrange this visit
APPLICATION CONSIDERATION PROCESS After your school visit, our administration, in coordination with your guidance counselor, will evaluate if Region 10 is the right fit for you. You will be notified by mail.
EARLY CONSIDERATION Due to our low student-to-teacher ratio, our classes tend to reach capacity rapidly. If you were waitlisted last year or are genuinely committed to securing a spot in a program at Region 10, we encourage you to submit your application early for Early Consideration. During a brief window from mid-November to early December, we accept early consideration applications, which often receive priority consideration as they demonstrate a strong commitment from the student.
