We’re not quite the new kids on the block, having already created a portfolio of over 17,000 beds, in 48 buildings; but we’re at the very beginning of building our brand, our culture and our DNA. Supporting the Digital Marketing Manager, the Digital Marketing Executive will be responsible for day to day management of our web development agency and website booking provider, providing updates to the website and third party advertising channels. You will work closely with other teams across the UK to execute HTML email marketing campaigns, social media, SEO, PPC and all things digital, to drive interaction, whilst delivering on commercials goals. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: WEBSITE • Work on the Student Roost website and relationship management with our external agency • Provide content updates to the website, on an ad-hoc basis • Update third party websites to ensure a consistent look and feel of the Student Roost brand

• Manage, develop and coordinate in-house email marketing activity • Link building with external parties to support content building • Stay up-to-date on website trends, developments, and competitor activity • Deliver weekly and monthly web reports

PEOPLE & COMMUNICATION • Work with our internal teams to promote and utilise the Student Roost website and booking engine • Work alongside the Digital Marketing Manager and third parties to plan and execute all email messaging EMAIL MARKETING • Set up of email marketing calendar to support a regular schedule of communication • Manage and coordinate regular email marketing communication to current and prospective students • Liaise with external email marketing software provider (MailChimp) • Maximise delivery, improve response rates and minimise unsubscribe and bounce rates of all email campaigns • Seek out new database marketing opportunities PAY PER CLICK • Work with the digital agency on paid for campaigns BUDGET MANAGEMENT • Set up and manage new supplier registration • Set up purchase orders and processing invoices to the Finance team SOCIAL MEDIA • Support the Social Media Executive with the creation of new and exciting content, for use across social media channels THIRD PARTY ADVERTISERS • Manage third party advertising channels with the update of content and images as required BOOKING SITE • Liaison with third party provider of Kinetics, our student accommodation booking tool • Support updates and reports from Kinetics to determine enquiries, leads generated

Person Specification

WHAT YOU’VE DONE BEFOR E • Worked in a fast paced, digital marketing environment focused role, including creating and reporting • Some budget management experience • Experience in marketing to a youth audience • Experience with website CMS, like WordPress or Craft • Experience managing 3rd party digital and marketing agencies required WHAT YOU’RE GOOD AT/KNOWN FOR • Passion for web and email marketing with a strong awareness of developments and trends • Commercially savvy • Creative, innovative and ambitious • Highly organised, methodical and efficient • A great team player • Excellent grammar, spelling and attention to detail WHAT WILL IT TAKE? Physical Effort • This role is predominately desk based at our office in Birmingham, working in front of a screen for most of that time. In line with the DSE assessment, we encourage time away from your work- station, fresh air throughout the day and a good balance between systems and human beings! • Travel will be required from time to time. Mental Effort • This is a role of competing priorities and as a seasonal operation, there are times of year when workloads may spike or unplanned incidents will take over. The role requires someone highly organised, but someone who is calm and pragmatic in their response to changes. • Despite solid planning, short-notice work may be required of you. • Unpredictable pattern of activity, no two days are the same and this role would be more suited to someone who can operate effectively in a highly-varied environment.
