Dylan Peterson on the move Peterson, regarding his decision to commit to BU and the Terriers. “(They have) a strong coaching staff and top facilities. I know that they will help me reach my goals; if I went anywhere else, I know I would regret it.” The six-foot-two CIHA student unders- tood an elite prep school with a focus on hockey was his best chance to prepare for university-level hockey.

“To have the intestinal fortitude Dylan has at the age of 14 to continue to better himself, both on and off the ice, is very difficult to teach, so to have that naturally built within himself is such an important ingredient, to not only succeed as a hockey player, but also in life. Dylan has been nothing but a pleasure to coach.” Peterson will continue his education and training seasons at the CIHA until graduation so that he is ready tomove on to the NCAA- level at Boston University.

At least one student at the Canadian Inter- national Hockey Academy (CIHA) knows where he should be after he graduates in the next couple of years. Dylan Peterson has verbally committed to play for the Boston University Terriers in 2020. Peterson is currently a grade-9 student at the Canadian International Hockey Aca- demy (CIHA) but he has embraced the academy philosophy of “School. Hockey. Life.” and wants to keep pursuing that phi- losophy after he leaves Rockland and goes on to university. “Boston University has a rich history of developing elite hockey players,” explained

His coaches and teachers note his efforts to excel on the ice and also in the classroom. “Dylan Peterson truly is a special kid,” stated coach Travis Rycroft. “Dylan’s on- ice ability is, without question, incredible. However, couple that with his off-ice dedi- cation and maturation level is something I personally have never observed from a 14-year-old before.
