Husband & Wife Tournament Those many years of wedding bliss all come down to this . . . the opportunity to excel with your spouse in the annual Husband & Wife Championship. This year’s championship will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at the Fairfax course with a 1:00 PM shotgun start. Entries will be available online beginning August 18, 2016. WGO-18 (Women’s 18-Hole) Upcoming Events:
CWGO will be hosting regular 18-hole play on August 6 (ARL), August 20 (ARL) and August 27 (FFX). The Member-Member tournament will be held on August 13 at FFX. Congratulations to our President’s Cup winners: Flight 1: Gross Winner - Lisa Moore; First Net - Cindy Hilburn; Second Net - Beth Baynes; and Third Net - Pam Quinn. Flight 2: Gross - Emily Graves; First Net - Barbara Lancaster; Second Net - Cheryl Watson; and Third Net - Deena Hollingsworth. The 1st Annual Combined CWGO-WGO Member-Guest tournament was a smashing success. It sold out with 112 participants! The day started with a Bloody Mary bar and breakfast on the tennis patio, followed by 18- holes of Ryder Cup Format, and then a Foot Joy shopping spree and fantastic lunch. If you missed it this year, be sure to watch for coming announcements for the 2017 tournament. Sign-ups for all CWGO events must be made through the ANCC website, accessible from the Golf Calendar. August 2 - Match Play Tournament Final (ARL), with normal play day August 5 – Ace Day (FFX) August 16 – Pink Ribbon Classic/ Rally for the Cure (2 Person Team - ARL) Luncheon/Awards to follow August 30 – Ace Day for September (ARL) August 30 - September 1 - VSGA Women’s State Team Championship (travel and practice round on August 29) will be held at Princess Anne Country Club in Virginia Beach. The low six handicap indexes as of August 1 among those players interested and available will make up the ANCC team. Those interested should contact Shelly Savage, VSGA Rep and Team Captain, at shesavgolf@aol.com . Play Day Information: League play is scheduled on Tuesdays at ARL and Fridays at FFX. Tee time sign- up sheets are available in the Pro Shops. Play is in foursomes and from the red tees at both courses.
