Chapter 18. Be a Giver

Giving is giving and trusting is trusting in all facets of life. I urge you to go out on a limb and give and trust more than ever before in your life: in your personal relation- ships, in your love life, in doing

People who are afraid to give and afraid to expose themselves will never get what they long for.

business deals, in looking for partners, in sharing your knowledge, in whatever it is. Give all the love you can; give all the compassion you can; give all the secrets you know. Give, give, give, because it will come back to you. It might not come back on your first deal. It might not come back on your first love. But the more you give and the more you have faith in giving, the more it will come back to you in your quest for Total Fulfillment. I know your past may be telling you otherwise. You may have been burned for loving too much or trusting too much. Maybe someone broke your heart or your bank account. But don’t let the past determine your future. Every one of us has been taken advan- tage of one way or another. In trusting and giving to certain people, I have lost around $2.5 million dollars in my life, and probably lost a few friends because of giving and trusting. On the other side, with a trusting and giving heart I have generated tens of millions of dol- lars and am fortunate enough to have absolutely amazing people in my life I love dearly. If I had decided fifteen years ago that it would be safer not to trust, my life would never be what it is today, and I would not be here sharing with you right now. Magic Buttons Another part of relationships, especially when it comes to business, is something I call “finding the magic buttons” in people. If you are negotiating, looking to borrow money, going into a partnership, or buying or selling something, as long as you know someone’s “magic buttons,” then negotiations are easy.
