Chapter 5. Imagine the Possibilities with No Obstacles

belief system; everyone can imagine and dream and then put a plan in effect to accomplish it, no matter what the obstacles are. From Imagination to Reality Here is an example of dreams becoming reality in the busi- ness world. When Federal Express first started, I remember everyone going crazy that a package could be delivered anywhere in America—and later the world—overnight. That notion trans- formed everything. Then, over time, we got used to it, and the service was no big deal. I remember when I got my first fax machine and could transmit a document to someone instantly. It seemed impossible that a phone line could carry a written message. Then, after a while, we got used to it. Then the Internet and e-mail hit, and now you could access almost any information and share pictures and documents with people around the world. Impossi- ble! But now it’s our way of life, and we are used to it. Well, for each of those innovations, someone had to imagine them first. All of those devices and services started as a thought in someone’s mind. They then made those ideas concrete and shared themwith the world. While the results may be different, when you visualize something you want for yourself and your family, you’ll be following the same steps to create a new reality. If our reality is a product of our thinking, why do we not think better thoughts to improve our condition? As you know from reading Part One, the answer is simple: we let our Limiting Beliefs control us. It should be the other way around. But isn’t it exciting to imagine what could be next? What will our grandchildren see and experience? Each of these amazing innovations started out as somebody’s dream—a thought no one could see. I’m sure people called the inventors crazy at one point. I am sure many inventors heard people say, “That’s impossible!” But inventors create something out of nothing because they imagine they can.
