This tuition assistance program covers the full cost of tuition and fees for qualifying students who enroll in six or more credit hours in the spring 2022 semester. SPRING 2022 CREDIT CLASS TUITION PAYMENT DEADLINES Note: Tuition payments for spring semester are due by 4 p.m. on the deadline date. After the deadline, payment is due at time of registration.

TUITION PAYMENT DEADLINES Tuition payments for the spring semester vary based on when you register for classes and which sessions you’re registering for (e.g., 16-weeks, 12-weeks, etc.). Students receiving financial aid: If financial aid and scholarships do not cover all charges, you must pay the balance by the deadline or your classes will be dropped. Students taking employer-paid classes: Provide a letter of authorization from your employer to the PVCC Cashier’s Office by the deadline. HOW TO PAY FOR CLASSES Payments can be made online through your MyPVCC account. You can also mail in your check or money order to: 501 College Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22902. Please include the student ID number on the payment. Please allow at least 5 business days prior to the payment deadline to ensure timely delivery. Do not mail cash. Monthly Payment Plan PVCC offers an interest-free monthly payment plan for tuition through Nelnet. Payments are deducted automatically from your bank account or charged to a credit/debit card. Students will be granted a refund for those credits dropped by the published refund dates. Refunds will be processed after the last day to drop or change a course for the semester. EXCELLENCE STARTS HERE: HONORS PROGRAM Develop academic and leadership skills through the PVCC Honors Program. Honors classes are smaller and more interactive and provide excellent preparation for transfer to competitive colleges and universities. What are the benefits of joining the Honors Program? • All Honors courses are noted on the student’s transcript. • Students who completed 15 credits of Honors courses with a GPA of 3.5 or higher will receive the Honors Diploma and an Honors medallion that can be worn with their graduation regalia. • Honors students participate in extracurricular activities that include leadership development and service, and many students qualify for unique scholarships. • Several Honors students have been recognized at the national level by being named to the All-USA Community College Academic First Team and at the state level as New Century Scholars (i.e., the top community college student in Virginia). Others have received scholarships and academic awards at PVCC. The Early College Scholars Program for High School Students The Early College Program allows students to pursue an associate of science degree in general studies while still attending high school, giving students a jump start on their post- secondary education while preparing them for college life. The Dual Enrollment Program allows eligible high school students to earn college and high school credit simultaneously. From Another VCCS School If you attended another VCCS community college, you can also get transfer credit for previously completed coursework. KATHY HUDSON STUDENT EMERGENCY FUND Providing Assistance for Students in Need The Kathy Hudson Student Emergency Grant Fund provides a quick-response emergency grant to currently enrolled students in good academic standing who are facing a short- term financial emergency that may cause them to withdraw from the college. The goal of the grant is to help students remain in school. Please note that emergency funding is not intended to provide ongoing assistance for routine expenses or as a supplement for educational expenses. Financial emergencies that qualify for grant funding: • Homelessness or sudden loss of housing • Overdue utility bills/turn off notices • Travel expenses due to illness/death in the immediate family • Medical or dental emergencies • Theft of computer, books, clothing or other essential items • Temporary loss of job or income • Car repair, bus passes or other transportation needs • Loss of childcare • Other (explanation of emergency is required) www.pvcc.edu/emergencyfund

VETS CONNECT AT PVCC A Mentoring and Advocacy Program for Veterans VETS Connect aims to enrich the college experience for incoming student veterans by linking them with seasoned student veterans and mentors in the community. The program provides support to military personnel transitioning to higher education and future civilian careers. All military-related students enrolled at PVCC are encouraged to participate in the program. VETS Connect is designed to empower student veterans in their transition from the military to life on campus and beyond, using a holistic approach in providing a support network that is integrated with Student Services at PVCC. All classes are FREE! LEARN ENGLISH TJACE@PVCC offers five levels of Adult ESL classes and bridges students to GED ® classes, workplace programs and college level ESL and credit classes. Informal learning circles and Dialogue Café offer students an opportunity to build communication skills. GET YOUR HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA TJACE@PVCC offers classes in math, reading/language arts, social studies and science needed to pass the GED ® tests. What is Network2Work@PVCC? Network2Work@PVCC connects job seekers to jobs and careers that pay family-sustaining wages. We serve PVCC’s entire region: the city of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson. How does it work? Network2Work@PVCC partners with over 150 employers who offer quality jobs paying $25,000- $30,000/year. We send real-time job information to our network of community-based connectors. Job seekers interested in any of those jobs are connected to one of nearly 50 community agencies and nonprofits that provide the supports needed for job seekers to go from where they are to where they want to be. Available resources include skills training, childcare, transportation and housing. How can I help? If you know or simply want to help people who are struggling in our economy, consider becoming a volunteer connector or navigator in our job seeker network. If you work for an organization that can support job seekers, consider joining the provider network. Employers offering jobs and careers leading to family-sustaining wages can contact us and we will help you find your next great employee.
