Accounting and Tax Law Intern ( Law Offices of Virginia Prihoda ) Location: In-person, Rogers Park neighborhood, Chicago, near Evanston/Skokie Pay: $15 per hour to start ($17 after 30 days) Hours per week & shifts: Flexible shifts and student can choose 10 to 20 hours per week. How many weeks? Flexible. 8 to 16 weeks typically. Responsibilities/Job description: Intern will help with tax preparation, accounting, and clerical support. Preparation of worksheets and schedules using Excel and facilitating case management. Requirements: Completed a couple of basic accounting and business courses. Maturity/Professionalism. Description: This small business provides accounting/bookkeeping services and consulting services to small businesses. Student will provide customer service via phone, email, and app messaging to clients. Will work with bookkeepers to answer questions, provide information, and resolve issues. Training opportunities provide include accounting software and various other client internal and external supporting platforms. Requirements: Student needs to have already taken and successfully passed a couple of basic business courses/business administration courses. Accounting classes as well preferred, but not required. No accounting experience necessary for the right candidate. Student must be interested in learning how small businesses operate, accounting, and gaining experience in customer support. Nonprofit Executive Assistant Intern (AO Music Records) Location: Hybrid: 1 day remote & 1 day per week (near Wildwood, IL) Pay: $1,100 stipend at end

Hours and days: 5 to 15 hours per week. Average of 10 hours per week. Flexible days and times. Responsibilities/opportunities: Assist Founder in helping launch nonprofit arm of AO Music Records! Assist founder with keeping track of donors and fundraising efforts. Create organization and structure like file folders, email folders, Google Sheets, etc.. Assist founder in learning apps on a Mac computer. Requirements: Able to use a Mac OS (operating system). Experience posting on social media. Hours/shift/time: 3-hour shifts required. 3pm or later on 1 to 3 weekdays. 3 to 9 hours per week. Responsibilities/opportunities: Lead, coach, and work collaboratively with team members to deliver individualized instruction in a group setting. Assess students’ learning progress and engagement throughout instructional sessions. Communicate student progress with parents and guardians. Teach/tutor using the Mathnasium Method™, terminology, and teaching practices. Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes. Support the maintenance of a safe and professional learning environment. Engineering Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Automation Maintenance Technician Intern (Symbotic) Still hiring multiple interns Location: Warehouse in Melrose Park, IL Pay: $20 per hour 20 hours per week ideal, but can be less or more if student wants. Days, start and end times flexible. Warehouse open 24/7. 16 weeks ideal. No engineering or special classes needed! Students must have an aptitude and interest in mechanical and electrical work, such as an ability to take machines apart, problem-solve and test, and repair things. Ideal candidates will have good communication skills, be able to change course based on immediate business needs, show a sense of responsibility, and demonstrate problem-solving abilities. Responsibilities/description: This is a hands-on, mechanical and electrical job, not a robotic programming desk job. Repair and calibrate automated and robotic systems at warehouse (i.e.,

Automated Adapters, Vertical Lifts, and Symbotic’s fleet of automated robotic vehicles). Become system expert of Symbotic’s automation, including all mechanical, PLC, electrical or electronic subsystems. Ensure that the safety commitments in compliance with OSHA, Symbotic, and our customers’ processes and procedures are met daily. Perform inspections on systems associated with Automated Storage and Retrieval System of automated robotic vehicles and Automated Adapters/ Lifts. Support continuous operation by adjusting, calibrating, repairing, replacing or modifying system components, process and monitor the flow of the automated storage and retrieval system. Interns will gain skills in PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) knowledge and troubleshooting, advanced troubleshooting skills, performing periodic system inspections within expected durations on all equipment, ensuring quality maintenance and complete documentation via the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). (NEW) Packaging Specialist & General Support ( Culinary Cannabis Company) Location: In-person, Des Plaines, IL. Likely hiring two interns! Pay: $16 per hour. Hours per week & shifts: Flexible, 10 to 20 hours per week. Shifts must take place during hours of operation: Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Responsibilities/Job description: This start-up company’s proud founder and owner is actually a professor at Oakton College! Internship will be primarily focused on manufacturing and production in the booming cannabis industry. Students will learn how to operate and clean machines and will assist in assembling boxes. Students who demonstrate proficiency may also be assigned other tasks related to the company as well, ranging from social media marketing to brand ambassadorships at cannabis trade shows. Fields of study best for: Cannabis studies and manufacturing

Training provided: Training will be provided initially in floor operations and manufacturing. Specifically, adherence to health standards pertaining to operating in a GMP food facility and manufacturing efficiencies. (NEW) Software & Hardware Testing Intern (A2Z Imaging/Zinnovi, Inc.) Location: In-person, Schaumburg, IL Pay: $15.00 per hour. Hours per week & shifts: 20 hours per week. Duration of 12 – 16 Weeks. Shifts must take place during hours of operation: Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Responsibilities/Job description: Working with developers to understand hardware and software designs to develop comprehensive test plans and executing them. Working with our customers (Dentists/dental office personnel) remotely to install software and configurations required for x-ray sensors. Provide brief training on how to use our products in their office imaging workflow. Working with engineers to understand the product and how to support it. Internal testing of sensors with various imaging softwares to test compatibility and producing training material.

Social Science, Human Services and Non-Profit Social and Behavioral Science and Education

Teen Center Intern (Glencoe Youth Services) Location: Glencoe, IL Pay: $14 to $15 per hour (nonprofit) Hours and shifts: Student can decide how many shifts (one to five shifts) per week. Shifts need to be weekdays, 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Posted: July 25, 2024. Start date based on student availability, but prefer last week of August. 16 weeks long preferred. Responsibilities/description: Looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking student who enjoys mentoring and supporting students in grades 5-8. This individual will serve as an assistant to our 2 agency programs - both are social and support programs free of charge for all participants (SNAP-Special Needs Adult Pals) and our teen/junior high after-school drop-in located in Glencoe. Support Executive Director in daily operations of the youth center making it a supportive and safe space for all participants. Provide social interaction and informal support to participants in the center (and occasional outings) Preferred field of study/major and skill sets: education, social work or nonprofit understanding but most importantly needs to be able to enjoy working with young adults and ability to connect and mentor teens. Autism Support Professional Intern (North Shore Pediatric Therapy) Location: Hiring at multiple locations: Arlington Heights, Chicago (in Bucktown), Deerfield, Des Plaines, Evanston, Glenview, Lincolnwood, Lake Bluff, Naperville, and Vernon Hills. Pay: $16 to $19 per hour

Internship description: Gain invaluable hands-on experience working 1 on 1 with children on the autism spectrum. Learn and apply principles of behavior analysis and behavior therapy to make a real difference. Enjoy the unique opportunity to shadow our interdisciplinary therapy teams, including specialists in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Neuropsychology, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology for at least 30 minutes a week. Our comprehensive 12-week program is aimed at providing a deep insight into autism therapy and can be extended, opening the door for continued learning and experience.
