La FedDev remet des chèques aux municipalités
d’amélioration de l’infrastructure commu- nautaire. Selon le député, cet investissement fédéral permettrait d’améliorer la vie des résidents et les services locaux, mais devrait également appuyer la création d’emplois, la croissance et la prospérité à long terme de chacune des régions choisies. Il s’agit de Russell, Casselman, La Nation, Hawkesbury Est, Clarence-Rockland, Glengarry Nord et Alfred Plantagenet.

CASSELMAN | Le député fédéral de Glen- garry-Prescott-Russell, Pierre Lemieux, était de passage à Casselman le vendredi 8 février dernier afin de remettre une par- tie d’un chèque totalisant 475 000 $ à dif- férentes municipalités de l’Est ontarien. Cette distribution d’argent, faite au nom de Gary Goodyear, ministre d’État pour l’Agence fédérale de développement économique pour le sud de l’Ontario, FedDev, a pour but d’améliorer plusieurs installations importantes dans différentes circonscriptions dans le cadre du Fonds

METCALFE l A 16-year-old Russell High School student, Derek Smith, is recovering and in stable condition at CHEO after he was struck in an alleged hit-and-run in Metcalfe on Saturday, February 9.
