EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS 2 ADVANCEMENTS NEW

A Business that Empowers People Approximately three and a half years ago, Bryan Siew was seated in front of a pile of bills, deep in thoughts wondering how he could make ends meet and pay down debt. He recalls, “2013 was a very challenging year for me and my family. We were in a financially dire situation. My business accrued approximately RM300,000.00 in debts and I had no choice but to close it down.

week to set appointments. Besides that, he was also willing to be held accountable by reporting his daily activities to Melaleuca’s Coaching and Leader Development Team. In the beginning, it was just him and his personal Senior Directors 8 Lee Kong Hin and Kou Siok Hong who were doing the activities consistently and reporting each day. That didn’t deter him and he continued to be consistent with the activities while encouraging the team through the results he achieved. Eventually, his leadership by example inspired the team to follow and when they experienced positive results, more people jumped on board. In August 2016, his personal customer in Hong Kong, Suki Lee who is also his long-time friend, decided to build the business. Since then, Bryan has been travelling to Hong Kong once a month to help her and the team. Bryan shares excitedly, “Besides reaching my own goals, I really enjoy building the Melaleuca business because I am able to help my friends and family to change their lives. No words can express the happiness and satisfaction I felt when Suki advanced to Director 7 in March 2017.” His consistent personal activities and commitment in helping his team reach their goals were definitely key in helping Bryan reach Executive Director in April 2017. Bryan says, “I used to focus on personal advancements a lot, but not anymore. Now, I just focus on who I can help and how I can help them. And I know that if I help them reach their goals, I will eventually reach mine. Melaleuca is the only business that empowers people to achieve their dreams and realize their fullest potential.” One of life’s greatest pleasures is travelling the world with no time and financial constraints and it has always been Bryan’s desire to have a business that takes him to different parts of the world. “I am a wanderlust and Melaleuca has enabled me to realize one of my dreams which is to build and run a global business, no matter where I am located. I also had the opportunity to visit many different countries with my business partners through Melaleuca’s Fast Track Trips and Standing Senior Leadership Council trips.” At the recent Standing Senior Leadership Council in Bangkok, Bryan and Jane were recognized for their advancement to Executive Director 2 in July. Bryan says, “My advancement is the evidence that if you engage in the 7 Critical Business-Building Activities consistently, you will experience the results. If I can do it, anyone can do it too. This year I will develop 2 new personal Senior Directors and 1 new Executive Director!”

It was one of the most desperate times of my life being the family’s sole breadwinner, and my wife, Jane Kau was pregnant with our fourth child.” In December 2013, Senior Director 2 Jennifer Ong introduced Executive Directors 9 Eric Toh and Stephanie Thian to him. “That was the fifth time Jennifer had approached me to hear more about Melaleuca. Before that, every time she approached me I would say ‘No’, because I have heard about Melaleuca from many people before. In fact, I was approached more than 20 times but I said ‘No’ each time because I thought Melaleuca was similar to MLM.” He explains, “I grew up watching my father and his team work really hard building their MLM businesses with the intention to build residual income, but none of them achieved their goals. Having witnessed their disappointments and failures, I didn’t want to go through the same experience.” Although Bryan was hesitant to accept Jennifer’s invitation to listen to a Melaleuca presentation, he was particularly impressed by her persistence. It was also his intention to reject her one final time so that she won’t ever approach him again. Little did he know that the decision to attend the presentation was the beginning of a new chapter in his life. “Looking back, I’m thankful to Jennifer for never giving up on me and the decision to attend the presentation changed my life forever. I finally understood the differences between Melaleuca’s Consumer Direct Marketing model and the Multi- Level Marketing model. Melaleuca’s business model is so unique and rewarding,” says Bryan. Melaleuca’s 96% reorder rate stood out to Bryan as the key to earning true residual income because his previous businesses failed when the sales wasn’t sustainable. “I also love the fact that no one can get hurt in Melaleuca. There are no risks at all to build a Melaleuca business; all that is needed to set up a shopping account with Melaleuca is a one- time membership fee of RM70. I was so excited to know that I only needed to invest time and hard work. And with that hard work, anyone can create significant residual income for the rest of their life.” Driven by a strong WHY, Bryan was committed to pay down debt and build a reliable stream of residual income to provide a better future for his family. With laser like focus and strong determination, he trail-blazed and reached Senior Director 8 within his first 12 months. While the blazing growth was encouraging, there were also challenges with retention. Bryan quickly learned the importance of the products and effective follow up in achieving a high reorder rate leading to a sustainable business. He also changed his strategy and focused on building his team’s belief by coaching them on the value of the products, setting goals, reporting results and celebrating success. As the team’s belief increased, Bryan was able to overcome challenges and advanced to Senior Director 9 in March 2016. Bryan’s advice to all new Cat 2s & 3s is to be coachable and never stop learning. He says, “It is important to have strong belief in the products and company. Besides attending your team’s regular training, you should also keep learning and improving your knowledge and skills. I encourage you to attend all company activities and events as you will truly benefit if you pay attention.” When he attended US Convention 2016, he realized the importance of Critical Activities 1 & 2 in building a successful Melaleuca business. Since then he has been adding one name to his contact list each day and making 20 calls each
