Staffing In February 2008, the Federal Bureau of Justice Statistics released a comprehensive report specific to university and campus law enforcement agencies for 2004-05 4 . This study found that the average ratio of police officers per 1,000 students was 1.8 for student populations between 10,000 and 14,999 and an average ratio of 2.2 officers per 1,000 students for student populations up to 9,999. In January 2015, the U.S. Department of Justice published a special report 5 on campus law enforcement for 2011-2012. The report indicated that agencies employing sworn personnel with a student population of 10,000-14,999 had an average of 20 officers with a ratio of 1.6 per 1,000 students. Using fall 2018 federal Common Data Set statistics, we compared CWU staffing levels to other university police departments and included physical infrastructure data. They are as follows:
