Moving Forward Police Facilities
Priority 2: Property Room Expansion and Arson/Bomb Squad Evidence Room in BBPSC Fire Training Shell Purpose The Police Department’s Property Room, located at 3616 E. Lancaster will reach capacity in FY19, and it is critical that an expansion space be designed quickly for operational purposes. Shell space is avail- able in the Bob Bolen Public Safety Complex Fire Training building. This is a cost effective solution since a new building will not be necessary. The pro- ject will include finishing out 20,000 square feet of shell space with HVAC, electrical, and security im- provements and requires high density shelving. An additional 5,000 square feet will be used for Arson/ Bomb Squad evidence. Status The Department is currently working with the Prop- erty Management Department to begin the design phase of this project in the Fire Department Training shell space. Funding Strategy Funding is available in the FY19 CCPD budget.
Priority 3: Bob Bolen Multi-Purpose Room Improvements
Purpose
The multipurpose room is a large open area that can hold 245 people. Adding a divider mechanism in the room will increase the flexibility of users in the room by allowing users to book more than one event at a time depending on the occupancy need. Status The Department is currently researching the cost for this project. Funding Strategy Funding is available in the FY19 CCPD budget.
