WHAT IS ROTC? The UNK Army ROTC Program is an elective curriculum you take along with your college classes. It gives you the tools, training, and experiences that will help you succeed in any competitive environment. Along with great leadership training, Army ROTC can pay for your college tuition. Because Army ROTC is an elective, you can participate your freshman and sophomore years without any obligation to join the Army. You will have a normal college experience like everyone else on campus. When you complete the ROTC program, you’ll have the transferable leadership skills of a U.S. Army Officer, as well as a guaranteed part-time or a full-time job after graduation and commissioning.

GOING INTO NURSING? ROTC CAN HELP! Up to 8 UNK students who are contracted to serve full-time on Active duty or part-time in the National Guard after graduation will receive GUARANTEED admittance to the Nursing program if they meet the minimum UNMC requirements! NURSE SUMMER TRAINING PROGRAM (NSTP) NSTP is a clinical elective conducted the summer between your Junior and Senior year. More than 10 hospitals in the United States, Germany, and Hawaii are NSTP sites. During NSTP you will be introduced to the roles, responsibilities, and expectations of a new officer in the Army Nurse Corps. The program provides progressive experience and leadership opportunities in a clinical setting while working side by side with an Army Nurse.
FULL RIDE + Scholarships and stipends in Army ROTC pay for college courses and help you focus on what's important. Namely, getting your college degree — not how you'll pay for it. The ROTC scholarship includes money for tuition and fees, room and board, a monthly stipend, and money for books, totaling >$14,980 per year!
