IMPORTANT REMINDERS ABOUT PARKING ON CAMPUS: •Parking is permitted only within marked stalls. •Parking Stalls may not be used as storage areas. The maximum period of time that a vehicle may stay in any one stall is 14 days. •Vehicles may be required to move for events on campus. •Visitor permits are available at the UNK Police office. PARKING All vehicles on campus must have a valid UNK permit. Parking permits may be purchased beginning the first week in July at the UNK Police Office in Facilities, the Finance Office, or online by going to your MyBlue account.

KEEPING UNK SAFE The University of Nebraska Kearney Police Department is a professional police department that partners with students, faculty, staff and visitors to provide a safe environment on campus 24/7. This includes enforcing University policies, state, federal and local laws, providing security, crime prevention resources, the safe-walk service, monitoring campus parking and more. The department employs Nebraska certified law enforcement officers, commissioned as State Deputy Sheriffs with full arrest powers, as well as community service officers, ticket-writers, and administrative staff. Anytime a student, employee or visitor feels uncomfortable walking on, or within two blocks of campus, they can request a SAFE WALK. Simply dial 308-865-8911 and speak to a UNK Officer. Officers will walk with you two blocks off campus, south, east and north for those of you parking or living nearby. The Safe Walk is available every night.

EMERGENCY ALERTS The office of Emergency Planning and Management exists to coordinate planning, training, education, and preparation for possible emergency events. UNKAlert will notify you any time the campus community is impacted by an emergency or dangerous situation which involves an immediate threat to the health and safety of our campus community. UNKAlert will send emergency messages from UNK to devices and addresses you designate. UNKAlert contact information can be updated through your MyBlue account. EDUCATION UNK Police offers classes on active shooter, self-defense, sexual assault prevention, and more.
