“This was never just about selling blocks, the story behind OSBLOCK is really about changing the construction industry worldwide.”

A System Designed to Eliminate Structural Inefficiencies

Traditional stick framing, while deeply embedded in North American construction, carries inherent inefficiencies. Chief among them is thermal bridging—the transfer of heat through framing members that reduces a wall’s effective R-value. “The cold from the outside runs straight through the two-by-sixes,” Levesque explains. “That’s thermal bridging, and it’s a huge challenge.” OSBLOCK addresses this issue through a continuous insulation approach. Each block integrates polystyrene insulation on both sides of a structural core, creating a wall assembly that significantly reduces thermal transfer while eliminating the need for traditional vapor barriers.
