Monsieur Stripinis est d’avis que cette étude serait utile pour relancer la question EVUSBOTQPSUFODPNNVOEBOTM&TUPOUB - rien, alors que le gouvernement de l’Ontario souhaite investir des fonds pour ramener MFUSBJO0OUBSJP/PSUIMBOEEBOTMF/PSEFU l’expansion des routes du GO Train dans la grande région de Toronto. Les Comtés-Unis de Prescott et Russell n’ont signalé aucune objection à ce que la municipalité aille de l’avant avec cette étude de faisabilité, étant donné que Casselman est la seule municipalité des CUPR à offrir le service de gare de train à l’heure actuelle. Monsieur Stripinis offre ses services sur une base bénévole et ne demande qu’à être remboursé pour ses déplacements à Casselman afin de produire l’étude. Patrick Patenaude, 43, from Limoges was stopped on Route 300 in Russell Township TIPSUMZCFGPSFQN"CSFBUIBMZTFS test resulted in a reading of over 80. He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. Robert Levesque, 64, from Clarence- Creek was stopped on County Road 17 in Clarence-Rockland for a traffic-related offence. A breathalyser result of over 80 prompted further investigation. Police found other illicit substances, an invalid driver’s licence, and a broken taillight. Levesque was charged with possession of more than 30 grams of dried cannabis in public, driving while intoxicated, driving with a broken tail- light, and driving without a licence. All of the above individuals received a 90-day driver’s licence suspensions and had their vehicles impounded for seven days. They’re scheduled to appear in court in L’Orignal at a later date.
Russell OPP charged five drivers with impaired driving within a single week. The Russell Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged five drivers with impaired driving between June 27 and July 3. The charges, which came about during over 530 calls for service in that one week alone, are as follows. Samuel Larocque, 18, from Hawkesbury was stopped on County Road 17 in Cla- rence-Rockland for stunt driving. A routine breathalyser test revealed he had a blood alcohol concentration of over 80, leading to his detainment. He was charged with stunt driving and driving while intoxicated. Le taux d’emprunt sera supérieur au taux moyen des emprunts à long terme de la municipalité qui se situe présentement à 2,72%.

Level two and three positions will receive a 25-cent raise after one year, a further 50-cent raise after two years, and a 75-cent raise after three years. Positions at level four and above will receive a 50-cent raise after one year, a further 75-cent raise after two years, and a $1 raise after three years.
The pay structure for several hourly positions around the township has been altered. During the regular meeting on June 20, Russell Township council approved revisions to the student and part-time salaries that the township refers to when hiring for certain positions. This is in anticipation of Ontario’s minimum wage increasing to $15.50 on October 1 this year. Salaries are currently divided up into six levels, with several different positions in each level. Students from Russell High School and Russell Public School gathered at the library to read the decodable books they wrote. On June 24, Grade 7 and 8 students from Russell High School (RHS) gathered at the Russell Public Library to attend the launch of their decodable books, which are carefully sequenced books to help children with letter and sound relationships. A total of 33 books were launched at the event, and after the launch, older students paired off with younger students from Russell Public School to read them. The Kindergarten to Grade 2 students had great fun puzzling out the books, which were written not according to proper spelling, but according to how the words sound when read aloud. “I didn’t know writing decodable books would be so much fun,” said Grade 7 student $BSSJF"OOF.VSUPO4IFTBJETIFFOKPZFE working with the district’s learning partners and her classroom teacher to develop a new skill and to help younger students read. “Decodable texts can help kids learn to read because it mixes words and sounds they may already know with ones they may not in order to crack the phonetic code. GFL Environmental Inc. GFL Environmental Inc. (GFL) is undertaking an environmental assessment under the Environmental Assessment Act for the future development of the Eastern Ontario Waste Handling Facility (EOWHF) in Moose Creek, Ontario. The future development will involve the construction of an additional 15.1 million cubic metres of landfill disposal capacity over a 20-year planning period. The development will allow GFL to provide continued essential waste disposal services to the region and economic support to the local community. No changes to the approved fill rates or site access routes are proposed. The EOWHF is located within the Township of North Stormont, approximately 5 kilometres north-northwest of the village of Moose Creek, Ontario, and 5 kilometres east of the village of Casselman, Ontario. The proposed future development will be on land currently owned by GFL.
L’ÉE envisage deux méthodes alternatives pour fournir la capacité d’élimination supplémentaire. Une nouvelle entrée de route sera construite à partir du chemin Laflèche, qui comprendra une nouvelle installation de pesée. Les deux méthodes alternatives continueront d’utiliser les procédures d’exploitation établies actuellement en place à l’EOWHF et maximiseront l’utilisation de l’infrastructure existante du site. The EA is considering two alternative methods for providing the additional disposal capacity. The development of Stage 5 adjacent to and north of the existing landfill is the same for both alternative methods. One alternative method involves developing an additional four stages oriented east-west within the future development lands, east of the existing site. The second alternative method involves developing an additional three stages oriented north-south within the future development lands, east of the existing site. A stormwater management system will be constructed consisting of conveyance ditches around the perimeter of each stage and a retention pond located north of the new stages. For both alternative methods, the design of the stages will be consistent with the existing EOWHF landfill design. Visual screening will be constructed along the north and east perimeters and a portion of the south perimeter consisting of earthen berms and/or vegetation plantings. A new road entrance will be constructed from Laflèche Road, which will include a new scale facility. Both alternative methods will continue to use established operating procedures currently in place at the EOWHF and would maximize the use of existing site infrastructure.
