Orapa, Letlhakane and Damtshaa Mines (OLDM) General Manager, Mr. Mogakolodi Maoketsa, recently engaged with employees across various OLDM departments to reflect on the previous year’s performance and share key priorities for the year ahead. Addressing employees, Maoketsa reaffirmed that safety remains Debswana’s number one priority. While acknowledging the safety achievements recorded so far this year, he cautioned against complacency, emphasising that safety requires consistent discipline and shared responsibility at all levels of the operation. Looking ahead, the General Manager called for greater intentionality in the utilisation of resources across departments. In light of the declining diamond market, he encouraged teams to work together to eliminate unnecessary expenditure. Maoketsa further reminded employees that, beyond operational performance, Debswana remains committed to serving its host communities and making life brilliant. He highlighted the importance of collaboration in exploring sustainable opportunities that create value for both the business and surrounding communities. In closing, Maoketsa urged employees to remain focused, accountable, and value-driven to deliver breakthrough outcomes in line with the new strategy objectives.
