REGIONAL CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP ON EMERGING SATELLITE TECHNOLOGIES EASTERN AFRICA-Kenya
In partnership with the East African Communications Organisation (EACO), the Communications Authority of Kenya, and with support from Viasat, the CTO organised a Regional Capacity Building Workshop on Emerging Satellite Technologies for Digital Transformation in Nairobi.
Held immediately after the EACO WRC-27 Preparatory Meeting, the workshop provided regulators, spectrum managers, policymakers, technical experts, and development partners with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of rapidly evolving satellite ecosystems and future spectrum governance considerations. Discussions explored low-earth orbit satellite systems, connectivity expansion, digital inclusion, regulatory preparedness, and the strategic importance of satellite technologies in supporting resilient national digital infrastructure. The workshop reinforced the CTO’s commitment to strengthening institutional readiness and supporting member states in navigating emerging technological developments.
