Hometown St.Thomas October 2026

Gary Clarke I am a sitting Councillor seeking re-election. I was first elected in 2014, re-elected in 2018 and again in 2022. As a life long citizen I have spent many years volunteering with minor sports, Optimist Club, Knights of Columbus, United Way, and Special Olympics. I am a

Gibbs Diobe I am Gibbs Diobe, a family man, an International Medical Graduate, and currently a Registered Nurse serving this community. Earlier in my career, I worked as a teacher and later as an ecologist. These diverse experiences across different fields have shaped my understanding of people, systems, and the challenges communities face. I am running for St. Thomas City Council to advocate for issues that promote the common good for all residents of our mun- icipality. My priorities reflect what I believe will strengthen our city and support its continued growth. 1. Community Engagement: I will listen actively to residents, ensure their concerns are heard, and bring their voices into council decisions. 2. Taxes: I will work to keep both residential and commercial taxes in check so families and businesses can thrive. 3. Affordable Housing: I support initiatives that expand housing options for lowincome earners, seniors, and those seeking alternative, attainable housing. 4. Infrastructure and Services: I will advocate for improved transportation links between St. Thomas, London, Port Stanley, and Aylmer, upgraded parks, and timely snow removal. 5. Economic Development: I aim to promote local businesses and attract new investment to create jobs and strengthen our economy. 6. Community Safety: I will collaborate with all community stakeholders to help ensure St. Thomas remains a safe, welcoming, and crimefree city.

retired teacher, principal and school superintendent. I am married to Elaine(Barnier) proud father of Devin, Lindsay and Matt and grandfather of Alexa, Jaylin, Landon, Wesley, Breanna and Emmi. I believe in addressing citizens concerns in a timely fashion and treating everyone with empathy, warmth and respect. I am here to help. My time on Council and the Economic Development Corporation has been focused on smart growth. Residential taxes alone cannot provide the dollars needed to deliver the services and amenities our families require. By investing in our downtown and Yarmouth Yards we are attracting new businesses, growing our commercial and industrial tax bases and attracting jobs for generations to come. We also need to invest in our cultural and arts infrastructure (senior centres, libraries, art galleries, museums and theatres). Cities and businesses thrive when the arts thrive! I am seeking re-election to complete the Yarmouth Yards project and expand/ upgrade transit, trails, police services and resources for senior citizens. Top Priorities. - continued infrastructure renewal and economic development. -diverse, accessible and affordable housing -expansion of Valleyview beds and adult day programs -taxes at the rate of inflation.
