The good news for parents of students attending CDSBEO schools is that the OECTA has a tentative deal with the province and the Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association (OCSTA) that could bring an end to that union’s ownwork- to-rule job action. The OECTA announced Aug. 25 that a proposed agreement with the trustees’ asso- ciation and the educationministry is now on the table and ready to go to unionmembers for review and a ratification vote. OECTA President Ann Hawkins stated in a news release that the tentative agreement should “address the concerns of our members” and also protect their needs and also the needs of students. Specific details of the agreement are not available until after both the union and trustees’ association have ratified the deal.
