P.A.N.T.S? Theatre

LOUDMOUTH On Tuesday, year six were visited by Loudmouth education and training through theatre – a program that promotes the idea of fighting against several different types of abuse such as: domestic abuse and child abuse. They performed a short drama based on real situations, teaching us the P.A.N.T.S rule: P stands for privates are private, A is for always remember your body belongs to you, N shows that no means no, T means talk about secrets that upset you and, last but not least, S stands for speak up, someone can help. After this production, we were split up into workshops that re-capped what they showed us in the performance. We were reminded that there will always be someone responsible to talk to - whether it is a family member or a teacher in school. You are always able to contact ChildLine on 0800 1111. You can also find Loudmouth on their website at www.loudmouth.co.uk or call 0121 446 4880. We thought that they were an awesome influence to the whole year group – and we would be delighted for them to come again. This visit has changed the way we look at P.A.N.T.S! Thanks to Ela Can and Vinaypreet Johal 6M POLICE AND SCHOOLS Our local link PC, Jon Hewett, has shared this useful weblink with a host of safety information for our children and families. http://www.policeandschools.org.uk/ PE AND SPORT PREMIUM AWARD Miss Hinton and Mrs Sanderson represented Abbey at the Active Black Country PE and Sport Premium conference. Presenting to around 300 delegates, Abbey proudly shared our innovative work on developing pupils’ core strength and cross lateral movement. A unique programme delivered through story and movement has been developed to support gross and fine-motor control across our school, but particularly in Reception and Nursery. The impact has been seen right across our school from younger pupils right through to targeted individuals in key stage 2. Our staff proudly accepted the award along with a beautiful piece of custom made glassware that is on display. Well done us!
