Pleasures and satisfied taste buds Around 7 500 people attended this year, which is about 1500 more than last year. Looking at the improvements, there was the expansion of the demonstration areas as well as the well adapted trans- port between de provinces. Waiting time for the bus and ferry was very short and everybody seemed satisfied. In Lefaivre, the Canadian Culinary Federation, with chef Michèle Michèle Legault, Jacques Lepage, Stéphane Pa- quet et Michel Reymond’s contribution, the public was delighted. The same public had the privilege of awarding the Prix Coup de Coeur (Public’s choice) which was given to la Binerie de Plantagenet/Cuisine Jean Bernard.

Organizers kept their promise. The 2 nd edition of the Foire gourmande Outaouais-Est-Ontarien has improved on all counts which is less to say considering the 1 st edition was great success as well. Last Sunday, Lefaivre and Montebello welcomed visitors as numerous as hungry for the local produce from the Outaouais valley. On both sides of the river, people were charmed by the little bites, fragrant, salted, sweeten or spicy of more than sixty local food producers and transformers. The beer and wine selection were very well presented in this great gastronomic celebration which showed the strength of this industry in full expansion in the region.

The activity was organized by the Eastern Ontario Agri-Food Network and l a Tab l e de conc e r tat i on agroalimentaire de l’Outaouais and will most certainly be returning next year for a 3 rd edition.
