With the advent of digitization and satellite channels, the situation have changed and the media has become a subject of continuous controversy among those interested in political changes. Al Jazeera satellite channel has been a breakthrough in the Arab world and an exception in the field of global media landscape. This thesis deals with the transformations in the Arab media scene and its relationship to political transformations in the Arab region, especially democratic transformations. It examines the causes of these transformations, their objectives, processes, and the obstacles they face. The research focuses on the Egyptian revolution and the coverage of Al Jazeera satellite channel as a case study. The thesis is divided into six chapters, a methodological chapter, three theoretical chapters, and two chapters devoted to the field research. The researcher used the content analysis methodology to analyze a sample of Al Jazeera programs over a period of one and a half years, from January 25, 2011 to June 29, 2012.
