What is Multiple Sclerosis? Multiple Sclerosis is an unpredictable disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. How many DMTs are approved to treat MS? Today there are more than 20 disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) for MS because of all the money that has been put into research & development. Is there a cure? There is currently no cure for MS, but there has been much progress in developing new drugs to treat it. Research is ongoing to develop new and better disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) for thisdisease of the central nervous system, so every dollar raised helps fund this research.

I’m happy to say that 2026 marks my 10th year participating in the MS 150. This event is so much more than a bike ride for me, as I was diagnosed with MS in 2015, two weeks after my 17th birthday. I went into the hospital thinking I had a stroke. The left side of my body was going numb, I couldn’t grasp anything with my left hand, and when I tried to smile the left side of my face wouldn’t work. After a multitude of tests and remembering what I know now were relapses dating back to when I was 13, my neurologist told me I had Relapsing-remitting Multiple Sclerosis. Receiving this diagnosis
was a lot to take on. I had just begun my junior year of high school, spent five days in the hospital, and now had to live with the unknown of how MS was going to impact my life. Not long after being released from the hospital I received a call from my dad. He told me what the MS 150 was and that he and my stepmom were going to ride for Team DXP, who wanted to ride in my honor. This meant so much to me, it helpedme realize that I am not alone in the fight for a cure. It helped me cope. It was at the finish line that year I was inspired to start riding. At first, I didn’t think I could do it, that MS would get in the way. I proved myself wrong. Completing my first ride made me realize that I am the one in control, not MS. I have continued to participate every year since. In the beginning, I rode as a challenge for myself. Now that I’ve proven I can, I’m focused on riding for those with MS who are not able to ride themselves. If someone were to ask me what the MS 150 is, the straightforward answer is that it’s a two-day bike ride from Houston to College Station that fundraises for MS research and initiatives. My complete answer is that description and more. That the ride is a way to prove to myself what I’m capable of, has propelled MS research to where it is today, and is an amazing community. A community of proponents for this cause that I have the pleasure of sharing with Team DXP, my family, and most recently my husband Brennan. Thank you DXP for your continued support through the years. It’s a blessing and an honor to have your team named after me.

My family’s involvement with the Texas MS 150 began shortly after my daughter Caroline was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis a few days after her 17th birthday in 2015. Since then, my family has committed to fundraising, riding, and volunteering to help the MS Society find a cure for this awful disease. This year marks my 11th ride in the MS 150 so, I would like to share a glimpse into a day in my daughter’s life who is the “WHY” in Why I Ride. MS doesn’t announce how each day will go. There’s no warning, no certainty, just a quiet assessment Caroline asks herself every morning:
This will be my 13th year to participate in the event. My first motivation was to train and spend more time with my brother. After experiencing the excitement of the people and realizing the benefits of the fundraising for the MS Society, it quickly became a passion.
After my second year, I approached DXP to sponsor a team, and met Mr. Jack Barrett, whose daughter (Caroline) had been recently diagnosed with MS, and thus began our journey to grow our efforts to generate donations and inspire people to participate. it has been a wonderful journey combining the joys of cycling, meeting new people, and strengthening relationships. It has been a privilege to participate in this annual event, along with growing the efforts with DXP. I have built some life long friendships along the way, sharing a common interest, and I hope to continue for many years to come. I would like to sincerely Thank DXP for supporting us through the years with their continued support, our Sponsors, The Riders that have joined our team to help raise awareness, all of the family and friends that support us and stick with us through training, All of the volunteers that help make this a successful event, and of course – our donors.
• Will I be able to sit up without pain? • Will my legs be steady to walk without help? • Will I be able to see clearly when I open my eyes?
Morning routines most of us never think twice about are challenges she faces daily. Caroline meets that uncertainty with a strength that humbles me. She refuses to be defined by MS. She refuses to give in to it. She goes to work, pushes herself, and strives for excellence, while carrying a weight that most people around her will never see. There are no headlines for that kind of courage as she is tested every day. Over the years, our entire family has embraced this ride. My wife Courtney, my son Jeb, and in recent years my son-in-law Brennan have all taken part, riding, fundraising, and volunteering their time. This fight belongs to all of us. So, when I get on that bike, it’s not just a ride, it’s for every unseen battle, every uncertain morning, and every person who refuses to stop fighting. If you’ve ever wondered whether your support makes a difference, it does. Every dollar, every mile, every word of encouragement helps move us closer to a world where families like mine don’t have to live with this uncertainty. Caroline has only known life with MS, let’s help her experience life without it, sooner rather than later. And with your help, we will keep moving forward, toward hope, toward answers, one day soon…toward a cure. God bless.
This is my 4th year to participate. I am participating to help bring a cure and an awareness to MS. Tracy McMillin Training for this has turned out to be a great way to kick start some fitness. It’s also been something that my brother and | do together for several months every year, leading up to this event.

This is my second year riding the MS 150, and so thankful to be a part of Team DXP Cycling. My great friend Jack Bates, who is the most charity-active person I know, works for DXP and recruited me to support this great cause. I’ve always enjoyed supporting charity and helping fundraise for cures and treatments. I participate in the Ride to End Alzheimer’s every year, and have seen the results cycling fundraising contributes.
This is my 4th year participating in the MS 150 with the DXP Team. Biking MS has provided a great opportunity to spend quality time with my brother and allows me to see areas in a way I wouldn’t otherwise. On another level, it serves as a form of meditation for me. I am super easily distracted while doing basically anything else. When I’m on my bike, it’s like “OK, my body is completely occupied for the next X hours, now my mind can’t do anything but think through stuff.”
In the two years I have participated in the MS150, I have discovered I have two friends battling MS, and one friend who just lost her brother to MS. I hope to be a part of the solution to those fighting against MS.
I also really like the goal-setting/making progress aspect. I also really like that every time I ride, I can push myself to a point where I want to quit because I’m too tired or whatever, but I’ve learned to talk myself into keeping going for whatever my goal was when I started the ride...most of the time
Bryan Taylor I’m proud to be riding in the MS 150 for the seventh time and for my third year as part of the DXP Cycling Team. What started as a personal challenge has grown into

I am happy to be back riding the MS 150 after a few years off. I was an avid cyclist in college but got off the bike as I became a dad and focused on work. Fortunately, when work moved us here to Houston in 2005, I found a team and started riding again. In 2009, I joined the Houston Chronicle Cycling team and rode in the MS 150 with them through 2011. The team disbanded in 2012, so I moved over to the Michelob Ultra team and rode with them for 3 years, doing the MS 150 with them. In 2013, my oldest son and I joined the Schlumberger team and rode until 2016, after which I took a break from riding to focus on my marathon and ultramarathon interests. Running has taken a toll on me these last few years, so I am back on the bike and happy to be riding. I’m a 59-year-old father of four who tries to stay as active as possible. My youngest has special needs and recently joined my fitness adventures, allowing me to push her in runs as I push her with Ainsley’s Angels. What fun that has been! Very much looking forward to some miles in the saddle with my new team, making friends and memories. See y’all on the road soon. Let’s ride!
something I truly look forward to each year. This cause is close to my heart. My cousin’s sister-in-law has been courageously battling multiple sclerosis for years, and her strength and resilience continue to inspire me. Riding the MS 150 gives me a way to turn that inspiration into action - by taking on the physical challenge, raising
awareness, and supporting the ongoing search for a cure. Last year, Jack Barrett shared some heartwarming stories about the support they’ve received from the MS Society. This inspiring testimony truly motivated me to take action and I’m excited to support the cause for years to come. Since my first ride in 2018, I’ve come to appreciate the camaraderie and sense of community that make this event so special. Training and riding alongside
dedicated teammates is both motivating and rewarding, and it’s a reminder that perseverance matters - on the bike and beyond. I’m grateful for DXP’s continued support and the opportunity to ride for such a meaningful cause. Every mile brings us one step closer to ending MS.

This will be my first year riding the MS 150 and I am beyond excited. This has been something I’ve always heard about but never thought I’d be participating in myself. The challenge to ride 150 miles in two days seemed so out of reach for me in so many ways but thanks to some amazing friends, I’ve gotten so comfortable riding and am so ready to take on this challenge for a cause.
Although I don’t know too much about MS I am excited to learn more about it through cycling! Fundraising itself was a challenge but realized how willing people are to support your goals if you just ask. I was able to reach my goal by offering pet photography in exchange for donations so I had a blast doing that.

For the past eleven years, I’ve had the privilege of participating in the MS 150 as a member of the DXP Cycling Team. What started as a ride has become a meaningful tradition—one that combines my passion for cycling with my commitment to giving back. It’s truly an honor to be part of such an incredible event and community.
Each year, our team dedicates our ride to everyone living with Multiple Sclerosis, but our mission is especially personal. The same year we started the DXP Cycling Team, our good friend and coworker, Jack Barrett, received heartbreaking news that his daughter, Caroline, had been diagnosed with MS. Since then, we’ve proudly ridden in her honor and in support of all those affected by this disease. This event is more than just a ride. It’s about raising awareness and supporting the fight against Multiple Sclerosis. Nearly 1 million people in the United States are living with MS. While it can affect people of all ages, it is most commonly diagnosed in young adults, particularly women.
Being part of the MS 150 allows me to turn miles into meaning—supporting research, raising awareness, and standing with those impacted by MS. I’m grateful to ride alongside teammates, friends, and supporters who help make a difference with every mile.

John Nicholas I took my first spin class in 2009, then became an instructor in 2010 working for Life Time. My first MS150 ride was in 2011 on a road bike I borrowed from a friend (along with his old cycle shoes), and suffered through the 2-day ride on my own. I later bought that bike (and the shoes) and started riding with outdoor groups on a regular basis. I haven’t missed an MS 150 since 2011 – except for Covid and weather cancellations. I initially started to ride the MS 150 as a physical challenge, and at the behest of some of my cycle class regulars. I found I vastly enjoyed the peace of outdoor rides and the socialization of the group
This is my second year riding the MS 150 with Team DXP, and I’m honored to be part of such an impactful event. I chose to ride again because of the powerful mission behind it—supporting individuals and families affected by multiple sclerosis. Combining my passion for endurance sports with a cause that changes lives makes every mile meaningful. I’m grateful to be surrounded by an inspiring team and excited to be back out there riding for a purpose. Janice Kopenhafer
rides. Since 2011, I’ve had friends and acquaintances I’ve known diagnosed with MS. I even found out 2 years ago one of my best friends from high school was recently diagnosed with MS, so I have many causes and motivations to ride and fundraise. The MS Society has done great work over the years with R&D helping new medications, therapeutic options to market and support for those suffering with MS. The cure for MS will hopefully come soon, but the therapeutic medicines continue to improve with the backing of the MS Society. I am blessed to have the physical ability, along with great friends I’ve met through the years, and will continue to ride the MS150 so long as I am able.
Mark Nail I am riding my 16th MS 150 this year, and we got involved with NMSS after my daughter, Ashley, was diagnosed with MS in 2008. Ashley’s neurologist, Tim Lotze, invited me to join the Texas Children’s Hospital team and ride the 2008 MS 150 to raise awareness and money to end MS. I’ve been riding ever since, only missing one year due to injury, and 2021 was canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions. TCH did not sponsor a team for the 2023 MS 150, but thankfully my friend and DXP employee, Tracy McMillin invited me to join Team DXP
Scott Martin My name is Scott Martin and I love being able to support multiple fundraisers to help people who have been unfortunately diagnosed with a disease or illness. I would do anything to help. I love the MS 150 because I get to enjoy riding while fundraising at the same time. This will be my second MS150 ride. I am currently starting my 3rd year of cycling and look forward to keep cycling and help others in need. I am joining Ride to end ALZ this year and many more.
Brad Stauffer The 2026 40th Texas MS 150 will be my 4th year to
complete the event, although I’ve unofficially completed a ride to Austin in 1 day 3 times following the old course! My main motivation is my love of cycling but also several close friends with immediate family affected by MS. It’s truly devastating to see the disease and how it affects a person. My good friend, Jack Bates, is on the DXP team, and invited me to join this year. I jumped at the chance and can’t wait to ride and hangout with my DXP teammates. DXP is also a key supplier for my company, Water Bridge Operating, who is a midstream produced water handling company.

Cristina Harmon Hi, I’m Cristina, and this year I’m riding in the MS 150 for the very first time. I decided to take on this challenge not just as a personal goal, but for something much bigger than myself, to support those living with multiple sclerosis
Aidan Brooks My name is Aidan Brooks, and I’m a paramedic working in EMS. Serving others is a big part of who I am, and I take pride in being able to help people during some of their most difficult moments. Outside of work, I enjoy staying active and pushing myself with new challenges. I chose to ride in this year’s MS 150 to support a cause that impacts so many individuals and families. This event gives me the opportunity to give back in a different way while raising awareness and supporting ongoing research for multiple sclerosis.

Landi Orza 2026 will be my 2nd time riding in the MS 150 on team DXP. I love participating in an event that gives back to such a great cause. It’s a beautiful thing to see people come together for the benefit of others, and that is a big motivator for me in a lot of activities. I appreciate the opportunity DXP provides to riders outside of the company. It’s a great and welcoming team, and I’m honored to be a part of it.
