Year 9 went on a variety of London based trips for their Drop Down Day on 1 July, including a visit to the Greenwich Observatory, London Zoo, Escape Room, V& A Museum and the London Dungeons. Below Ela U, a Year 9 student gives her account of her trip to the London Dungeons! “On our recent drop down day trip, Year 9 visited the London Dungeons on the South Bank ion London to study the darker chapters of British history. The tour used historical sets and theatrical performances to cover major events from the past 1,000 years. We began by learning about the Gunpowder Plot of 1605, exploring how Guy Fawkes and his co-conspirators smuggled 36 barrels of gunpowder under the House of Lords. The nNext, the exhibit focused on the Great Plague of 1665, where we learned that the disease wiped out roughly 15%
