From Monday 6 July students celebrated Book Week at Waldegrave, with author events and workshops as well as a dress up day for Year 7 and a Book Swap event for KS3. The authors invited to speak to pupils were Tia Fisher, Zohra Nabi and Sophie Darlington. They spoke about their writing processes, what inspired them to write the books they have and held creative workshops to help students think about creating stories of their own. The Year 7 dress up day was a huge hit, with students coming in as their favourite book characters, from the Cheshire Cat to Katniss Everdene! We finished the week with a very successful Book Swap in the Hall with plenty of books to exchange. It was lovely to see the students excitedly recommending books they had just read! It was a fantastic week put on by our English Team and Mrs Croucher - thank you to them all for their hard work!
